On one of our many, many dates, oh so many dates last week, we went to the bookstore and then to a chocolaterie.
I like chocolate. I’m one of those people who eats a square and says, “Mmm, that was lovely.” My husband? He is the kind of person who eats all his squares, then my squares.
Sometimes I want chocolate and I want there to be chocolate when I want it, and so I buy raspberry chocolate mostly, because The Mister won’t touch raspberry anything. Also, I’m not above hiding my chocolate.
The chocolaterie is pretty. It’s shiny and high gloss and it has a door. Two doors, actually.
Okay, but chocolate. Such beautiful delicious chocolate. It’s art.
They were all good. My favorite was the raspberry truffle.
Date night can’t always be about her. Sometimes ya gotta buy yer fella a Samurai book and take him to the chocolaterie.

Those chocolates look heavenly…I am at a stage in life where there is no such thing as chocolate still being there later unless I hide it. A teenage boy who hoovers everything in reach, a basically teen girl who’s hormonal most of the time — sweets don’t have a chance around here.

Thankfully my husband doesn’t like chocolate and I have no need to hide it from him… though I have been known to squirrel away chips in the coat closet and expensive cheese under the brussel sprouts in the fridge. No one looks under the brussel sprouts, I should hide my extra cash there.

Wait, what’s that about a samurai book? Part of your story reminds me of something from work. One of my bosses has a bad habit of eating off everyone’s plate. I found out she’s allergic to shellfish. Now I order shrimp every time we have to dine together.

I’m actually laughing out loud, as we sell those same truffles at the shop where I work. Most are too sweet for me (I’m sweet enough already, right???), but I do like some of the dark chocolate ones. I’m not above hiding chocolate or other food either. Sometimes you have to or else you lose it to predators!!!

Hubby used to work for a chocolate company. Man did he smell good when he came home. Heard of See’s Candies? His company made the chocolate that covers them, See’s just does the insides – fact. I love raspberry too. I put mine in the freezer. Then I can have just one piece and it lasts longer. Yummy post!

Well, no. I don’t eat much chocolate. More wine than chocolate. Don’t know when I last had them together. Think champagne… Years. It’s been years.

I’m not above hiding my chocolate either. I like a little dark chocolate in the afternoon. The funny thing is that as He-Man is getting older he’s the one buying chocolate. He was never into it when we were young. Now the man is buying 3 bags of chocolate a week when he does the Costco run!
It’s nuts! Oh, but those Dark Chocolate with Almond and sea salt Bark Thins…see my eyes rolling to the back of my head? Yeah, those are good and addicting! 😉

Beautiful chocolates. I’m like Jason. Best Chocolate in Town is on Mass Ave right next door to the Mass Ave wine shop. You can get a good bottle for about $12 and you take home what you don’t drink there. You can also get a meat and cheese board. They have a St Andre double cream cheese. Similar to Trillium. Chocolate, wine and cheese. Sounds like romance to me.

Both joints are on the far end of the Ave, by Roosters Kitchen, formerly Black Market. As a matter of fact the wine store is between Mimi’s Meat ball and the chocolate shop. Great little area.

You have made me realize how lucky I am that my man does not care much for chocolate. But when the kids were living at home, I got twisted pleasure from hiding the good stuff. Though I prefer DARK chocolate, that truffle that looks like Jupiter is lovely.

Lucky you! The Juniper truffle (I said THE SAME THING!) was peanut butter and milk chocolate and it was good. Like you, I prefer the dark.

Yum! There’s a place here that sells dark chocolate peanut butter truffles with peanut sprinkles on the outside. They’re healthy because peanuts.

Nice doors, but I do like where they lead even more. Those chocolates look wonderful. I’m more like the Mister though. I’m not likely to reflect until I’ve had three or four.

Husband buys dark chocolate because I don’t like it (trying to keep the carbs down, here), but occasionally I steal a square or two and eat it VERY slowly.

Low carb, low sugar chocolate frosting is my go-to/preference — cream, cocoa, vanilla, coconut oil, only a wisp of powdered sugar. Easy and light. More texture than sweet. Not that you need to whip up any tonight 😉

Those chocolates look so Purty. We had a a place called Norman Love Confections near my hometown. The chocolates looked like art themselves. You knew somebody thought you were extra special when they bought you a set of chocolates from there. It looks like a perfect date night. 🙂

You’re right to compare these pieces of chocolate to art. I used to love chocolate when I was a kid and then way less. Now I don’t eat much chocolate, but buy some for my husband. And I still love window shopping for beautiful artsy chocolates. This chocolaterie of yours is a gorgeous shop for sure.
