I like round things. Circles and orbs are my favorite. It’s true. Even I have a friend called Orb. Right up there with “Does it come in white?” is my preference for circular things. Immediately, I think of my daily jewelry choices. Earrings — 99% of mine are variations on a circle. Balls, discs, filigree circles, diamond circles, sea glass circles, beads on a hoop, and my favorites? Gold circles with turquoise beads dangling from them. Necklaces? Circles. I usually choose from five variations of discs and beads. My favorite bracelets feature circles and beads. Watches must have a round face. Ring settings? It’s round-cut or it’s off. You know where I keep my rings? On a ceramic white giraffe — with gold circles for spots because … Polka dots. I love polka dots. I’m in polka dot pajamas right now. My favorite shirt in the whole wide world is white with gold polka dots. It has a tiny hole in it now. Holes in my shirt are sad circles. Favorite dress? Navy blue with white polka dots! Round necks are better than v-necks or collars. If it has a v-neck it needs a circle, like a necklace or a SCARF, am I right? Maybe a scarf with polka dots. Round hat boxes. Round hat brims only, come to think of it. Buttons! Buttons are soooo cuuuute! Sassy is called Button you know. Rounded toes on my shoes, please. I DO NOT LOOK GOOD in round glasses. How very sad. Full moon. Snow in the night sky. Snow globes. Snowballs and snowmen. Stone fruit is round. So many round fruits. Fruits are the best. Ice cream scoops are round. No, no, ice cream is best. Why would you cut vegetables like zucchini and carrots into sticks when you can have cute circles instead? And you put them in round bowls and on round plates. I tell ya, maybe it’s interesting how I’m drawn to round things except roundabouts and baseballs, but when it comes to dishes I have an aversion to hard angles. You people with the octagon bowls and mugs and glasses? Do your lips form an acute triangle or somethin? Maybe your hair grows straight, too, what do I know?

I enjoy curves. Curves are nice. Deep, long curves on a wide, well rounded surface. Or steep curves with a sharp incline..doesnt matter. Angles are nice too, as long as theyre agreeable. Im not super picky. 🙂

You, my friend, are rather curve and circle dependent 😉 I also enjoy curves, but clearly I’m biased.

I have never considered whether or not I prefer circles. I definitely have a penchant for certain circular things. And I love curves in roads. I used to want to be a race car driver and I loved the big curves in town. However, since there were only two, TWO, in town, that turned out to be a delusion in loving curves after I moved to the mountains. Now, I can finally drive into them without braking down to 10 mph.

Hah! That’s funny! I have a favorite curve to drive on here. Now that I live south of that ramp, I don’t get to take it as often, but I still get happy when I drive it!
I would not enjoy living in the mountains because of the windy-dindy and lack of grid. I already know this. But the views, c’mon! 🙂

Great #SoCS post. I feel like I can hear you running right through this. I like round things, but I’m eliminating curved accents all over our house, in favor of angled accents. I like the symmetry more than the round.

Isn’t that funny, how we’re like that? And I wish my transitional doorways had been left rounded in arcs instead of cut corners. Ours are not square, not right angles, but… I’m struggling.. If you put a triangle in the corner .. Maybe I’ll send you a pic so you don’t think I’m as confused as I sound, lol! Anyway, right angles in construction make more sense, I know.
You do you, do whatcha like 🙂

I don’t like right angles. I like shallow angles. In between 45° and zero. Sorry, math.

No, no, I’m fine with geometry. In fact, much to Moo’s dismay, I am helping her as she struggles with it. I’ve recently discovered lots of people I think of as mathy are not geometry-minded. It’s the only math that ever came easy to me.

I loved geometry.

Hum, Dr. Freud says…. oh heck. I’m not even sure he could tackle a round fetish! I don’t like roundabouts either.

Joey–this was awesome. Always round necks on clothes. No V-neck and definitely no collars.

Yes ma’am. That is the way 😀 You are like me about lots of fashion things. I like this about you!

I can’t say I’ve ever really thought about this. I enjoy certain round things…. margarita glasses and gin bottles come to mind, but I also have square dishes and rectangular watch faces. I guess I swing both ways.

You prefer the angles, I get it 🙂 I truly enjoy making people think about things they never thought about!

I’m a type A personality. All the stripes on my dishes are perfectly aligned in the cabinet. No one sees them …. but I know!

Right on! IF I had stripes on my dishes, they’d also have to be aligned. *wants to see the striped dishes sometime, in cabinet or with foods or whatever*

Well that is interesting. I appreciate the round stuff of life, especially cook ware. Getting product out of a non round pot is a pain. As for dish ware I think I prefer more angular. A square bowl on a larger square charger is pretty neat. Leave it to you to come up with something I never once considered. My Mother was Dorothy and dad called her Dot. Just thought I would toss that in. Happy Saturday.

Dot. I like that. I know NO Dorothys, but if I meet one, I hope she likes Dot 🙂
I would never choose a square plate, because I had square red desert dishes for years and I never thought they plated well. It’s the whole angle thing. They would have photographed better if they were white, but I hated the squares, pretty as they were. At least with plates, you don’t have to put your round mouth to them! 🙂

My fondness for square dinner ware probably stems from my over exposure to round and oval white plates from restaurants. Although I don’t own one single square or rectangle plate.

Pity. I’ll keep my eyes open.

I’m all about the round with a very few exceptions in my jewelry. I sat firmly in the round watch face category until I broke down and fell in love with this stupid apple watch so now I have to live with a freaking rectangle on my arm. I most always wear posts — except when I get squirrelly and wear my leaf filigree or funky shape drop earrings. And square plates? What is this, Russia? Just no.

I get that, about the watch. I love to wear my gold balls, which are posts, but I can’t wear them to work, because they come out when I’m on the phone! I wish they had screw-on backs. Tsk.

Crescent moons. Whether dangling earrings, or carefully arranged big rock gardens. It’s crescent moons for me. Simply a lovely, well rounded Stream of Consciousness post. An excellent Labor Day Weekend to you. Thank you.

Might have known you’d love all the round things, from the circles and polka dots on your background here. Very good you know what you like in all things.
For me, not so much. I like angles, and odd shapes best. That goes for shirts and sweaters, too, either vee neck or square..never round. 🙂

It’s a thing. Most of us have preferences. Now, did you know that about yourself before reading this today?

Well, yeah, I knew most all my things are geometric or angle shapes rather than curves or circles, but no, I hadn’t really thought much about it! 🙂

I love circles, too. Wish I’d written about that but had to fall of the bike….. When I was in college and told my art teacher that I liked circles, he said in his foreign accent that circles are feminine shapes. I think he was flirting with me. But that’s another story. In anthropology family tree shorthand I seem to remember that the female is a circle and the male a triangle. More useful info I learned in college. Anyway, circles are just pretty.

In genetics and anthropology the female is circle and male is square. He probably WAS flirting with you. Have you seeeeen you?!? How’s your owie? Are you feelin better?

It’s healing. I went in the ocean with it this evening. It seems to have helped. Thanks for asking and for clarifying about the squares. 🙂

The next town south is Round Rock (TX). There is a reason: a large stone in Brushy Creek is where wagons made low-water crossings in the 1800s. I bet there is a Flat Rock somewhere. Painted Rock? I checked. It’s not very round. Also, “pie are round. cornbread are square.”

There’s a Flatt Rock in Tennessee. Two tees. Dunno why.
Painted Rock is familiar…
My cornbread is baked and cut like pie or round (cause skillet fried cakes) — and now I want some. Tomorrow. 😛
Hope y’all are havin a nice holiday 🙂

I think there’s something spiritual about the circle and all things “round”. Maybe it’s the cycle of life kinda thing. I’m drawn to circles as well, but until reading your post I hadn’t thought much about it. When we moved out to our property this year I made hubby mow me a Fairy Circle up on top a mound where the meadow grass grows🤣 🧚♀️🧚♀️🧚♀️There’s magic inside that circle! 🔮👀Thanks for sharing your love of all things round! It was a fun read!

I’m glad to know you’re a circle kinda person, too. Thanks for stopping by!

I am of the round fanhood, Joey. I like “soft” versus hard. I like curves not angles. I never even stopped to think about how much round I have in my life until I read this post of yours. You enlightened me. Huh. How about that? 😙
