SoCS Post

I was gonna get up this morning, early, 7, and I was gonna take Sassy to the first thing and drive through the car wash. Truthfully, I don’t know when the car wash opens, or like, if at 7:30 there’s a big long line waitin for it to open, but Blanche has these faint gray vertical stripes which are streaks of dirts, hm? If I owned a car wash, I’d open super early because morning people are often clean car people, with their bright shiny faces matching their bright shiny minds matching their bright shiny cars. Then I’d come home and post this thing and read some posts and pick Sassy up from the first thing and then posthaste, take her to get some shoes, cause the dog sorta ate hers and maybe I could find a BOGO and get Moo shoes, too, cause she’s a runner and when her shoes aren’t Tiggeriffic, she feels slow. Post shoe shopping I’d be ready to read some more posts and nibble some noms and then the people were supposed to leave to do the second thing and I would be left all alone, and I could read a book or sing into my hairbrush or scratch my underboob and tell my cats a story, but probably just the reading, maybe build a lil book tent over my face. Mmm, nap. However, The Mister decided not to go in this morning, allowing me to sleep til 9:30. Sassy’s been picked up from the first thing and she’s gone to her cave to snuggle herself, postponing shoe shopping until probably after the second thing. Now I just don’t know if I’ll get my car washed, sigh, but I do have plenty of time to sit here on my sofa and read posts. Oh how sad. Don’t I look sad?

PS: During the second thing, Moo will see Marian‘s grandchild. It’s a small world.

  1. I promised my car, Liz, a good car washing for years. Sadly, I never got around to it before I sold here when we left New Jersey. I hope she gets a new family, and that they cleaned her up before sale. I miss my Buick Terraza minivan – so many good miles. Only car I’ve ever had with an electric pump that could pump up her own tires. Even used it once or twice.

nah – you look rested, content and the soft smile reminds me how enriched I feel when I have time to catch up and read some posts (well usually this is the case when we follow some interesting bloggers) – and I think people – like you and D and many others – who take the time to actually read others – well they get all super smart and super sculpted cos they get all this extra seasoning in their brains… they invest in others but get all this other stuff back – we know how it is, right? and then they might still have a dirty car but they have a soft smile that whispers of a rich life – cos someone who appreciates sleeping in a bit has a rich life – just saying

Oh Y, you wax poetic tonight! That was truly lovely. Yes, I think our lives are seriously enriched by a lot of content in blogs. I learn so much, not just information, but stuff that makes me think and see differently. I love our WP community.
Thank you for your elegant comment. ❤

my pleasure – and it was genuine.
and thanks for saying I waxed it.
I have to say I feel a small groove because i have had a chance to get caught up the last two weeks. and not a rushed caught up – a slow go and it has been a gift.
        true gift.
and now I am getting ready to take a few weeks blog break (small part of that is to see family – because Joey – guess what- I am a grandmother – my step-daughter had a little girl earlier this month and we are to visit) anyhow, hope I don’t mess up my groove – but sometimes pauses help –

Oh that’s nice! I take a pause now and again, and you have a perfect reason! Congratulations! How sweet!
I may never catch up, but I keep going — too much good stuff I don’t wanna miss!

i hear ya on that –
            and talk to you soon

(oh and quick story – when I was on a short break earlier this year – there was a fiction prompt that came up with What Pegman Saw-
and it was right when you got your new vehicles –
and so when i saw the prompt I was thinking of this story where I met up with you and we went to get dan and then we traveled to the location suggested – it was a quick thought but the more I do flash fiction – the quicker story ideas come and go – anyhow,
then life got going and two weeks went by and i was coming to ask you if you liked my fiction.
the one that never made it to a post.
oh wow – I had to laugh –
but Joey – you and Dan would have really liked it – or at least that start of it – hahhah
and maybe another time i will get back to that idea (for sure)
and hope you have a nice rest of the weekend

Groovy! You should totally do it. Rumor has it Dan’s gonna get a new vehicle in the next year or so 😉 Might prompt you and get the timing right.
I have to feel like I’ve got my timing right. I’ve got 80-some drafts, but the timing may not be right.
Enjoy your weekend, too! I’ve taken a personal day Monday, so yay me 😀

                ahhhhh

(and timing really is everything – which is why i feel led to make sure I post the final four posts I have started (not too major – two are photos) but I know when I come back my mind will be elsewhere and the timing might not fit what is on my mind this weekend – so off I go to finalize those

I let the hubs take my car to the carwash because he’s retired and I’m still working (yes, typing in my pjs is working!) Doesn’t really look like a sad face to me.

I really like your SoCS posts. You so funny. “scratching my under boob”. Few women would write that. Joey-Trail Blazer. Being old getting up at 7 is sleeping in. Shoe Carnival has a buy one get one half off. If you find a BOGO let me know where. Have a great weekend.

Thanks! I just keep it real.
I checked Shoe Carnival today and the deals were for sandals. We went to Kohl’s and got 20% off, that’s the best I could do for my lil athletes today.
I’ll let you know when I run into BOGOs 🙂

I’m a morning person but my car’s not that clean. I have this doo dad for cleaning cars that spins around and always gets the person washing the car wetter than the car! Happy Weekend!

I keep trying to tell myself that I’m a morning person. I’ve even stopped pushing the snooze button…but I don’t set alarms on the weekend. I finished the laundry and dishes just in case the eventual rain knocks out the power. My jeep could use a good cleaning, but the next week will be very muddy around town. So, for now, I wait. 🙂

I slept late yesterday. Today was walk early then off to poetry group. Stopped on way home. Texted wife ‘need anything?’ from store. She texted back ‘watching Oklahoma game.’ I was at beer case and there was a TX beer named ‘Oklahoma Suks’ so I photo’d it and sent to her. She said LOL. I need to see if OK has beer called TX Sux. Rivals, don’t cha know?

I love the name of your car….I’ve yet to name mine. I’ve been thinking about Blitz. Or Sherman. Or should it be a female name? No, I think I’d rather sit inside a male car.

Things I love in this post: Tiggerific shoes (wish I had some!), a car named Blanche, the book tent, the self-snuggle cave, scratching the underboob (double D cup here – i know the joy). All so wonderfully Joey.

  17. Sounds like a wonderful day to me. I didn’t get my truck washed. They don’t do that at the dealership any more. I did get new wiper blades, so that’s pretty cool.

You look radiant! I slept in this morning (rare). But after years of working, cooking, cleaning and raising the kiddos, I’m enjoying an early retirement and drinking my third cuppa coffee ☕️ I need to get dressed and go for a walk…or do I? 🤣

My car needs to be washed, too, only the girl is usually with me when I remember to do it, but can’t because she’ll scream bloody murder.

Sleeping in is good, even if it does postpone all the things.

  20. Oh MY LAURD Woman, you look PIT-TEE-FULL! Hehehehehehehe! Did you finish your book? I finally finished the one I started last week. Dang I’m slow finishing them these days.

Speaking of shoes I want some new ankle boots, but can’t muster up the energy to go shoe shopping. I have a hard time finding what I have in my head, or something that fits just right. I hope it’s easier going for your two girls, and you get your car all shiny and purty on the outside soon.

Do y’all have DSW out there? I love that place. They don’t Always have what I want, but Mostly.
I’m going to invest in a few new suedes this season 🙂 Colorful suede. I wore my blue suede shoes a lot last winter!

      • We do have a DSW a pretty good sized one too. When I was young and shopping for clothes, bags, and shoes all. the. time. I had a membership there for points. It’s been so long since I’ve shopped there now I’m sure they’ve long since purged my membership from the rolls.

I’ve only had three pair of blue shoes in my whole life. When I was 14 I had baby blue faux glossy leather tall/read go-go boots, and when I was in my early twenties I had a really cool pair of pointed toe canvas navy blue flats with a white stripe across the top of the cleavage of my foot. They were trés chic et avant garde, and my navy blue keds sneakers. I wore my very first pair of Navy blue Keds for more than 20 yrs. I wore a hole in in the canvas right above my middle toe on both shoes. Once those holes wore through I bought my second pair. You probably won’t believe it, but they’re still brand new sitting in my closet waiting…waiting…waiting… I discovered Converse and burgundy high tops in the meantime so my navy blue Keds are in the wings waiting.

Your blue suede shoes sound amazing, and my brown suede ankle boots well loved and worn sound so, very, boring now!

I’ve only recently realized I love, love, love colored footwear. And since I work in a happy work environment, I can embrace that part of myself and not be so damned practical for the sake of professionalism. I’m delighted!
I wore Keds for the first 30 years of my life, constantly, really. I wore beaded, sequined, ribbon-enhanced Keds on my wedding day, as did eldest daughter ❤
I still have a pair, but like you, I wear my Converse more.
I bet they still have your number at DSW. I bet. Good luck finding shoes that bring you joy! 😀
