One-Liner Wednesday — I Used to Care, a lil

Driving to pick up kids from the high school football game, we saw fireworks pop up on the horizon. The Mister said, “Ooh, someone scored a touchdown.”
And I said, “Unless it’s Troy Aikman, I prolly don’t care.”

Besides, my favorite football player will always be Charlie Brown.

  4. What Dan said re: Charlie Brown! He is my favorite footballer too, apart from him I know a handfull of the names of past football players, and none of those are my favorites they’re just names in the news or names I’ve heard my football following family use.

I always wanted to see Charlie Brown miss the ball and kick Lucy’s head off.

Oh, yes. ‘He’s a clown, that Charlie Brown.’ The consummate true believer. It’s time to kick that football, is it not?

  7. I am so not a football fan. But who doesn’t love Charlie Brown? Him… I could watch play.

And Lucy would pull out the football when he tried to kick the extra point, Joey. Sigh.

Fireworks at a high school game? Whoa.

Baby Girl is on a Charlie Brown kick, so we’ve been watching all the old cartoons on Amazon. Loooove them.

Big schools can afford to do big things for athletics, because athletics bring in money. Won’t see any fireworks for the chess club or the dance troupe…

Our school does not do fireworks. Most of the town does turn up for the games though. I’m not included in that number 99% of the time. However, I do dutifully take and retrieve Miss Sunshine so she can hang out with her friends (I mean, watch a football game).
