In Which Whirl Girl Winds Down

Y’all know good and goddamned well that I am not only behind in blogging, but also in reading blogs. Life. Mine is full. Yay. Yay? More like Yea.

Due to staffing issues our office has been just a wee tad bit totally incredibly crazed.

This week kicked my ass.

First, I am grateful I have been spared of sick.

Also, I like this chilly wet weather.

Then, lemme say that I would rather be busy, full-speed ahead for eight hours of a day than to be idle for ten minutes.

This week had so many whirlwinds. I’d sit back down at my desk, and I’d think now what the hell was i even doing before all that happened?
Fortunately, I have been a teacher and a mommy to many in addition to working retail at Christmas and Starbucks in the morning, so I am completely capable of high-functioning adaptation in the face of chaos and confusion. GO ME.
That is my work week.

Additionally, my girls have the fall break. A break for a teenager is the optimum opportunity to squeeze as many fun things as possible into that time. And y’all know there’s no break from athletics, right? Have I made that clear? Who cares if you work, your kid has sport fing for three hours three days a week! Cause break!

Annnd, the boy one came up to visit. He’s good people. We enjoy him. He can drive to his own fun and he comes with his own money and he never leaves hairbands in the shower.

SO tired.

I need to watch a lot of clouds, trees, and television. Oh, and I need to sleeeeeeeep. And remember to eat. And maybe drink a lil.

I’m late, but still I like to make you crack a smile on Friday so I’m leavin this to the professionals.

Happy Friday Everyone! Rest yo brain.

SADIE PUPPY!! Great pics! I miss you guys. Ive been very idle as of late and its wearing on me. Can I borrow some of your things to do? I miss getting to do the things. I sometimes envy folks that have full lives, but then remember that I get full rather quickly..Hopefully you get some rest soon. 🙂
    Happy weeknd joey !

Chest skritches…I LOL’d over that photo. Puppers appears to be in heaven. We should all have a life like that – no worries, no busier than busy days, just love and food and a place to sleep and get chest skritches.
I know how that goes – the crazy busy. But you made it through the week and now you get to lay on the couch or read a book or do something fun. Right?

  6. OMG that dog looks so much like my Puppy Cody. Except for the ears. And the cat. Cody doesn’t have a cat sister. She’s never even seen a cat, so I have no idea how she would react!

  7. So easy to fall behind, right? And the sports thing…yeah, it’s a time sucker, ‘cept you’ll miss it when it’s over.

  8. Enjoy them all. It’s hard to believe, but it will be different when most of them – or all of them – are not around as much. I miss mine.

Your crazy life reminds me of my former life with kids, work and no sleep! Even in early retirement tho I can’t sit still. No off switch for the brain🤣 Hope you can get some sleep this weekend 😴

Thanks! I so relate. I don’t know that I will retire. Probably just work less often, or do something entirely different. Time will tell. If my brain switches off, that’s the end for me, lol!

Great to hear from you. I glad you are so busy. Idle and Joeys don’t mix. When I was working I usually preferred a busy lunch to a more refined dinner. Have a good weekend and always take time for an adult beverage.

I’m late to this particular post. Self-inflicted wound, I was busy working on house. I do appreciate the smiles you bring with your scattered stories. Give Sadie the petting she so needs, and scratch a few cats. Love the description of the boy – who knew one of the good attributes could be not leaving hairbands in the shower. Have a great weekend – get some sleep.

  18. I understand completely. Love the pic of the cat on the bookshelf. We both had a similar week. Otto needed a booster shot of some kind. He’s 73 pounds of fun now. (And still likes to sit in my lap.)

Retail at the holidays & Starbucks in the morning is a perfect description of the crazy. I made it to the weekend with only one commitment for today but 3 hrs at urgent care already blew up my day. Your pics DEFINITELY made me smile.

Just …. Ohhhhhhhhh ahhhhhhhh *smiles* ….. on the fur-angels. My white cat looks just like your white cat ‘cept now she is old and has eye tears that stain her gorgeous face. *sighs* I just can’t keep her precious face clean. What do ya want when a cat is almost 17? Huh. AND to make YOU feel better about the crazy busy …. I went up to a park yesterday (in the hills), one I haven’t been to in a LONG time. Finally. I’ze doing this! About 10 minutes into the hike I couldn’t remember IF I locked the PU. I had two other lenses in a backpack in that PU and NO WAY was I gonna chance it IF I had left the dang thing unlocked. So turned around and made sure it was locked (it was). I had NO recollection of locking it. Duh. Just too much ….. Happy Sunday, Joey!!! LOVED your gallery. I came up with the idea just this week to start adding a gallery of my babies once a week. Like minds and all that ….! 😁😁😁

      Thank you, Amy!
I go through that “did I?” list every morning. Drives me crazy sometimes. Most of it isn’t my responsibility, which is the price of delegating. Is the dog back in the house? Are the hot implements unplugged? Are the doors secure? Oy.
I didn’t take many pictures last week, and I sure didn’t have a funny. I am the only support staff this week, everyone else is terrible ill — not contagious, but WAY too sick to work. :/

Thanks for sharing Joey, and I LOVE the photos! Busy here too, but unlike you, I HATE being busy. I don’t handle stress as well as I used to and there’s been some emotional upheavals around here as well lately, hate those too. But I focus on the beauty in the midst of it all, and all my blessings and that gets me okay again. 🙂 Hope work calms down and the girls’ activities, and your able to get some of that “clouds, trees, and television” watching in, along with “sleep, eat, and maybe drink a lil.” ❤

I’m glad that you were spared sick too! Sick and understaffed would have definitely been no bueno. Crisp fall air has made its way here and I have had a walk in it to enjoy the change of colors and the sunshine. I’m pretty happy that the wet has seemed to have moved away for a bit. I hope you’re finding lots of happy moments in the chaos. 🙂
