The trees are finally at their peak and it’s going to be 67 degrees and instead of going to tromp about in leafeses, I am going to work. Y’all, I love my job, is great job, but it is not as good as leafeses tromping through the filtered sunlight of autumn’s trees, k?
Oh I walked in the ones on my driveway last night. Came home, kicked off my shoes, loved my dog, and went back out to fetch the groceries. Papery crunch-crunch under my bare feet. And cold asphalt. So happy!
Maybe I’ll leave work and tromp a bit. Maybe I’ll plant s’more bulbs.
Happiness, I can have it.
Enjoy the very small window of peak, my friend Joey, any way you can grab it!

The way the seasons mess with their schedules. you have to take what you can find.

When my kids were younger we would make a yearly trek to Brown County to view all of the trees. Then come home to rake up my own into big piles just to bag em and toss em. So enjoy your leaves any way you can.

It’s such a wonderful time of year! Happy crunching….

I tromp the ones in the driveway every time I go out. My disappointment — a lot of the fallen leaves are still green because of our weird, super humid / hot, never-ending summer, then rainy weather.
Enjoy!!!

Oh, I do hope you get to leaf early and tromp in some leaves! That sounds wonderful. #1 Grandson has been waiting for our tree to turn and drop so we can rake up great heaps of leaves for him to jump and tromp in. He keeps asking, “when will our tree leaves fall Grandma?” I have no idea, but it’s usually the last tree on the street of Ginko’s to drop its leaves. So, we wait. My tree is still mostly green and has only just begun to drop a few leaves.

Ginkos turn beautiful bright yellow here. And also one of the last standing. Do they do the same there?

Yes, my favorite shade of yellow. I tried to mimic that color in the addition to my bedroom. I didn’t quite nail it. They’re just started to turn most more than mine as usual.

Oh, how I would love a 67 degree fall day! I can understand why you would rather shuffle through the leaves than be at work. I drove through the most glorious grove of yellow trees yesterday…still hanging on. I wish I would have stopped to take a photo and shuffled myself. Maybe you can get outside for lunch and kick some leaves around.

Our temps are just starting to dip and I looked out the window this morning to see the back patio absolutely covered in leaves…. Have a great day!

Our trees aren’t looking all that glorious this fall. I’ll enjoy the leafeses through you and your photos.

Love the photos! Yes, the crunch is awesome! Ours is turning too all over town. Our tree out front is beginning with red leaves. 🙂 This part of fall I like! 🙂

Yes! Get out here and crunch, if only for a moment or two. I crunched during my walk in the park yesterday morning, but today was yoga, errands, and a relaxing several hours in the tea shop, reading and sipping, so not any real crunching. But there will be more crunching later in the week. 🙂

I had to walk through all the maple leaves in our backyard on the property before we left. The wind kicked up just at the right time and all the bright yellow leaves came floating down and I was a happy girl. Something about Autumn, and leaves, and crisp mornings that takes me back to my childhood. Good stuff!

Fall happiness in the leafeses can’t be beat. I suggest you check your mailbox several times a day — you never know when something new might sneak in there. 😉

I love tromping in the leaves. The yellows may be my favorite. They are starting to come down more quickly here. I hope you get plenty of days to enjoy them!

ahhh – so fun to feel the crunch.
and my spouse is a barefooter so you both have that in common.
I am a slipper or flip-flop girl – but I do know there are benefits of barefooting – and I am working on it

I just realized today that some leaves were falling. It took longer than normal for our leaves to start changing colors. So much beauty now.
