As many of you know, Tuesday is my least favorite of all the days of the week. Jilly went and looked up superstitions about Tuesdays for me, and now I need to abandon my Tuesday navy clothes and leap into pink and lilac instead. Honestly, I love to wear those colors and WHEN SPRING COMES ALL MY COLORS WILL BE AVAILABLE AGAIN and won’t that be nice? It’s challenging to be a Spring in the fall, when all of fashion is shaded and muted and muddy and all that does for me is make me look tired and ill, so I never look like fall. I look like spring visiting the fall. An Easter egg in the fall forest. It is what it is.
I wore navy blue today and it was a great big day for me, as I went to the dentist. Yes, yes, I know we all go to the dentist, but we don’t all have the same teeth, mental health, or experiences, which is why I usually take an ativan and am driven by some kind soul who takes pity on my whiny bitch ass — these last few years, my father-in-law. I always keep the x-ray vest on the whole time. It’s like a weighted blankie and I tuck my nervous hands in there and it makes me feel cozy. If it’s a long procedure, I’ll ask them for an actual blankie for over my vest. Totally serious (and I’m not the only one.)
Today I was very brave and I went to the dentist all by myself! No ativan, no Papaw AND IT WAS OKAY! That’s HUGE for me.
I was there about an hour and on my way back to work, I heard this song and I felt oh so OOOOOooOooOOOOOOOooooOOoooOoooOoooOooo
OOOOOooOooOOOOOOOooooOOoooOoooOoooOooo OOOOOooOooOOOOOOOooooOOoooOoooOoooOooo
Oo Oo Oo Oooooooooo
If you know it, you know. If not, you should probably watch the first 50 seconds, then you’ll know.
“We love the all of you”
Even on a Tuesday. Jot.
How nice of Jill to research it for you. I love the way we bloggers stick together. Glad you had a tolerable Tuesday and even better an okay trip to the dentist!

I wear a lot of black. Sometimes in the spring, I wear grey. You know….light black. 😀

Yay for Tuesdays, spring colors and dentist visits without Papaw!!!
I keep my x-ray vest on the entire time too but for a different reason. I have started asking for the extra part to cover my thyroid as well. They’ve had that special collar like forever but never told me about it. I googled that sH!t and now I must have the thyroid protecting guard ALWAYS (or twice a year when it is x-ray time). See!! You REALLY aren’t the only one ;).

Joey had a good Tuesday. I’m making a note. But the dentist? Seriously? Who ever has a good dentist day? Is that even possible? Maybe they gassed her or somethin’.

And NO. NO GAS. No likey be high, everrr. No gas. Shots. Shots are good.

I only need a cleaning and I dread it. I suppose I should make an appointment. I prefer water-boarding to dentists.

I was like that for a long time. I still don’t LIKE it, but I’ve come a long way. Kind dentists are a rare and elusive species.

Proud of you. I need to see if my dentist has one of those vests.
And I knew I should know but then I knew at about 35 seconds. OoooOOOoooOo.

I’m glad Tuesday and the dentist went well. I don’t keep the vest on, but I do like the feel of the weight. I never make a dentist appointment that requires me to go back to work afterwards. Dentist -> home -> comfy pants.

Wise. My next appointment I’ll do that.

And now hopefully you are done with the dentist for awhile, Joey. Yay for you!

Hope it was a good checkup. I need to see mine too, for a chipped tooth.

I couldn’t tell if I chipped a tooth or lost a filling (date bar with nuts, hm?) Turns out I chipped a crown. Better safe than sorry!

Good for you. A good Tuesday and a trip to the dentist all by yourself. You should treat yourself.

Great to hear that you did it by yourself and thanks for this song. I bought the album it’s from (well, CD), Resident Alien, right there over at your place in Los Angeles because it’s got a visa on the cover and getting the visa for the USA and having it in my passport felt important. I never knew which year I was there. So it was 2005. “Okay, okay… it’s not okay…” The only time I was in the USA. I always had a feeling I’d return one day. We’ll see.

It’s a good one, definitely a feel-good song 🙂
You must come back, every region is different, and needs to experience you!

I haven’t seen dentist in years, but my husband just signed me up for dental insurance through his work plan. So, I guess now I’m going. Fortunately, I think all I really need is a cleaning – my bad tooth already fell out.

Oh snap. Good luck and happy dentistry to you.

We finally just got proof of dental insurance (under my husband’s job meaning I couldn’t handle it my damn self) so appointments will be made soon. I’ll need the drugs, if only to get my children there.

The only good music for going to the dentist is from Little Shop of Horrors! I can’t lay back on those chairs without pain. By the time the mouth is numb my body is screaming. Even just a cleaning kills. And now I know that is in my future as a filling popped out and I have the permanent look of the searching tongue into the hole. Glad you were able to handle it. Yay! Tuesday Dentist Day is over!

Yay for a good Tuesday!! I’m starting to see a dusty pink in the stores. Guess they are transitioning to spring. I spend most days bundled in my thigh length black down coat, so even if I wore a pop of color, nobody would now.

Congrats on the brave dentist visit! I like the idea of the vest/blanket. When I was working at the old job, I liked going to the dentist because I got off work early and could relax for a few minutes in the comfy chair. That tells you how stressful my job was. It also helped that my dentist was a sweetheart, same age as me, but he retired. Now there’s some kid being the dentist. He’s okay, but it’s just not the same. All dentists should be exceptionally nice and kind.

I completely agree with you on exceptionally nice and kind dentists! I wish I had one when I was a kid.
My next appointment, I leave early and then go home. I can’t say I relax until I’m all shot up numb, LOL!

I have to recite poetry in my head during the shot part.

I’ve ALWAYS hated going to the dentist. My knuckles turn white as I sit there enduring the procedures.

I was the same. Unfortunately, I think I’ve gotten used to the suffering. Toughened up a bit — and also, this dental place isn’t as scary, nicer people — I wish I’d had that as a kid. I also wish dentists knew then what they know now. I sure hope one day you’ll go in and you’ll be fine.

Good for you! My husband used to have to take me to the dentist all the time, after I’d cancel my apt 3 or 4 times anyway. Fiiinally got over that a year or so ago and started taking myself and stopped rescheduling all the time. It never occurred to me to ask to wear the x-ray vest, love that idea.

If you enjoy the weight of blankets as I do, definitely ask to keep the vest on. I am so proud of you, too!
