The January. It is eternal.
I just got home. I JUST GOT HOME. I am still dressed. It’s an utter atrocity.
I took my shoes off. My brown booties though, my favorite pair. Any time I wear them, I look down and smile, “Y’all are so cute!”
I’ve had these since we moved home. They’re wedges. They’re getting worn out. They’re resplendent with goodliness and character. One day they will die and I will be sad, so I don’t wear them very often.
I had an extremely productive day at work. It was so satisfying. I finished things. Mentor had a brainstorm at 2am and brought me her ideas thought to fruition at 10am and by 11am I had processed that brainstorm and was making progress. I walked by her door, “Good talk! Good talk!” Wow did we power through!
We had yummy yummy working lunch with the bosses and that, too, was productive.
Then I went to the school where The Mister and I both played usher for the theatre, then I watched the show and he guarded? the doors. I saw a lot of people I enjoy. I kissed The Mister during intermissions and that was ooh la la. After, I took some people here and there and thank heavens, CAME HOME.
Bit of go off and on tomorrow, but it should be the good kind. Yay!
HAPPY FRIDAY EVERYONE!
It does seem like January is a bit lingering but since I happen to be making tons of money every day with the tapping fingers, I’m not complaining. Got the permit for the shed. Now we wait for cement appointment. Pretty soon it will be February and we will wonder where January went. I think I have brown shoes like that – should say HAD shoes like that because my daughter absconded with them.

Oh Janet! It’s all going splendidly for the shed! A permit already obtained! Yay to making lots of typing monies and bringing a new space into your life!
My daughters abscond with my shoes on the regular, but with these, borrowing is verboten.

Isn’t it amazing how good a good day at work can make you feel? After 42 years of this crap, I still get that feeling sometimes. Your playing usher reminded me of when our daughter was in high school. The world (their world) is so amazing and seems so complex. It was fun thinking about you and the mister enjoying the intermission.
I hope you have a great weekend.

Thank you! I hope you have a great weekend, too.
And yes! It feels good to have a day like that. Like everyone in the office is in sync.
“42 years of this crap” sounds like a man who won’t mind retiring to do years of other craps 😉

In the style of the Joey: “Many go! Much things!” You must get online and search for booties just like your cutie booties and lay in some spares.

The January is eternal for the cold and snowy stuffs, true. But I find it is made longer by those who are playing with the heater and thinking 80 is a happy medium indoors. Might just be my experience, though.
My secret to the shoes issue you present: If I really love a pair, I buy 2. I don’t do this often. It’s for special shoes. I started doing this after my all-time favorite pair died a slow death with my feet wearing them out, literally, and then POOF! They were gone.
What was the show at the school?

Oh my gosh. 80??? Nooooo!
I have considered said double shoe purchase, but not done it yet. Sadly, it’s not til I’ve worn something for a long while that I realize its value.
The play at school was called The Haunting of Hill House, but it was a script adaptation of The Haunting, and not like the program streaming these days. It was good and scary!

I know, right? My sinuses are like the desert. Thanks, cold people who like the heat high!
That’s the title of a Shirley Jackson book! I love her. I didn’t know about the streaming version… I’m so not on top of things… Glad to hear it was good and scary!

The end of January is so close, but it has seemed to linger a while! I love those booties. I have a favorite pair of tall boots and the heel is getting so worn. I will be sad when they are no longer wearable.

Oh the sadness of good shoes gone dead.
