Twas a Orange & Gray & Green Day

Lemme show you.

See, first, when I arrived at work, there were orange slices on my desk.

A HUGE container of orange slices. Way more orange slices than I should ever be left alone with, okay? Office Assistant is always buying us yummy snackies and so I went to Mentor, “Did Office Assistant bring you a special treat, too?’
Mentor answered flatly, “No she did not, and she didn’t bring you a special treat, either.”
“Did you get me these?”
“I did!”
“YAYYY!”
That was so nice!

The glare is over the serving size, because they don’t want me to know that the serving size is half an orange slice four times a year.

At noon, I went out for the prompt of the day photo was ‘sky’. Please note this photo is in color, it was truly noon, and yes, that is the bleary sun.

Snow and freezing rain on their way.

Then I came back in to eat my jello and my apple, and I realized, I had a bit of a green theme goin on today.

Yes, there is something wrong with my hands, but you knew that, don’t stare.

I managed to eat my yogurt this afternoon, but I never did get to my orange slices. I wonder if they miss me the way I miss them?

How was your Monday? Any sweet treats? Colorful surprises? Impending weather changes?

Wow. You did not touch the slices. I am impressed with your will power. I went to the grocery to pick up a few things so I don’t have to go out the next few days. It is gonna’ be cold. You better open your slices before they think you don’t want them.

It was a very good Monday. I sat on my back porch (after pool time) before I made dinner (homemade pizza by Bill) and worked on picking poems. That is hard to do, so it will take a while. But it was 73 sunny degrees. I don’t have orange slices, but I have a hidden stash of dark chocolate covered caramels with sea salt. And yes to weather change…almost freezing overnight tonight with a high of 49 tomorrow.

Wait Wha? It was Monday. Whirlwind day. No colorful surprises. Supposed to be cold tomorrow. Well of course cuz it’s my first day in the new garage. I’ll be walking in that cold. Brrr. I’m already cold 🥶

A little early for St. Patrick’s Day. I am not really a fan of orange slices but they are only 90 calories a serving according to the label so it is a doable snack. They are pretty though. Love your ring.

State of emergency here. Its all out cold. I am neither surprised, nor unprepared lol. Hope your hands feel better. I dont know how it is for you, but the cold wreaks havoc on my arthritis. I will prevail though, as I am cold blooded you know.
    Enjoy your oranges!

I suffer the most in spring, then fall, then winter. Summer isn’t too bad, unless the rains hang out and refuse to pour. I’m looking into some fingerless compression gloves…
It’s supposed to be wicked cold tomorrow, dunno about state of emergency, but wicked cold – too cold for humans.

I hope you enjoy your orange slices very soon! I love that green. It feels very happy and vibrant. Gray skies about here too. I like the days when the sun decides to peek out. My Monday was quiet because all of my children were finally back at school. 🙂

  10. I am very familiar with that black and white theme going on outside, Joey. LOVE the color green of your sweater. FYI … none of us is perfect so to make you feel better, my hands are far from perfect. So there! And …. those orange slices made my mouth water. LOL Happy Tuesday and ….. Ta Da!!! January will soon be February! YAYAYAYAYYAY!

  11. Winter has been kind to us in Idaho. We had sun and everything over the weekend. Monday involved work and plenty of it. I don’t think I could have left the orange slices alone. Willpower is overrated.

Not a thing in the world wrong with the joey hands. Perfect hands. I love that b&w color photo–that ROCKS. You can have alla my gummy orange slices, k? Me no like. I was all excited when you said orange slices, because I thought you mean realies. I could get behind that, although a jar of them would be weird. my Monday was waiting for Tuesday. Unlike you, I love Tuesday. 1) I love going to the grocery, which was extra good today because everybody went yesterday to beat the cold and we zoooomed through the line. 2) #4 Daughter, the one who lives in another town, calls on Tuesday and we gab for–LITERALLY–hours. I hope you have some Tuesday goodness again this week!

The sky looks exactly the same out here. I’ve been snacking on black licorice from Finland. An acquired taste to be sure. Not sweet but tart.

I haven’t eaten orange slices like those in years. Instant memories of being a little kid with my dad. The gray sky I’ve seen quite a bit this week, and the color green is beautiful, but those orange slices are a trip down memory lane for me.
