Jot as the Wind Blows

I reckon I can jot.
Jot jot jot.

Remember January 2019? It was work, drive, jot, sleep.
And so was January 2018.
And there’s just one more day of jotting. I need to rustle up a door… Can I though? Can I?

That cold came. It’s cold. It’s zero. The wind is bitey. There’s a delay at school tomorrow, which I fail to understand, as when they go, it will be a whopping one degree instead of negative three degrees… not sure it’s worth the fuss.

Fuss. That’s what I’ll do if I jot any further. I shall go lie down now.

Zero and bitey wind. I don’t know how you do it.

I’ve never understood that later start thing. Our schools have been closed since Monday due to our – 50 to -60 windchills here. Even the Post Office was closed today, that’s unheard of yo. Stay warm there with your 1 degree, Joey! 😉

I heard about your post office! Apparently not all our carriers worked Wednesday, either. I honestly didn’t think it was THAT bad, but I’m not out in it 8 hours a day.

It’s about the same degrees here. Much better than the -40 we get sometimes. I’ll take the 0F/-17C.

  4. Frigid here, too. Right now-15 and -34 (with wind chill), but it was much colder than that this morning. Tomorrow will be below zero, too. Keep warm and safe!!

I tried to find door pics for you, but I failed. I know I have some cuz I took some in Savanah. Sorry, Joey. Have a good one, doors or not.

I’d be tempted to stay home. It’s hibernation time.

Most of the years I’ve lived here, our winter temps go from 32 in the day to minus something at night. This year I’m beginning to think winter played a trick on us. Very few snow days, very mild temps. I hope it doesn’t decide to do a late one now that it has hit you guys. Please stay safe and warm.

  8. Climate change: lack of a strong jet stream, due to warming of tropical waters, is letting the arctic air come lower. I just hope it’s reversible.

You’ll find a door. I have faith. Of course if it means an extra trip out then stay in. Doors handle the cold better than people.

Hmmm, Joey thinks “what the fuss?” Or something like that. Tomorrow is February, and we are adding daylight to each and every day!

  12. The delay makes no sense, other than to screw up the schedules of working parents. Out west, unless there is a blizzard, they go to school. Lot’s of clear sunny days that are below zero.

Right? It really does jack things up. There’s a rant in there, but I must restrain myself, cause who knows who reads this.
As for temps — It’s so relative. I’m not a fan of wee ones outside in dramatically, dangerously cold weather, but otherwise? Pffft. The issue, The Mister says, is diesel engines on buses. Which does NOT explain why a delay is better when it’s colder two hours later. Derrr.

I imagine it takes awhile to heat up the classrooms when the weather gets that cold.

Last week we had early releases for snows that didn’t happen and then a 2 hr delay so the weather could warm up from 12 F to a toasty 20 F
