SoCS — Yawn

*yawn* Hey Morning People, I bet I was up before you! I was up at 4:10. Up being me asking The Mister, “Is it the middle of the night now?” while he put his pants on. He said somethin and I took my earplugs out and put on sweats and brushed my teeth and found two matching shoes that I put on over my matching socks. It was a successful event. No one made coffee because we’re pretty sure we haven’t finished digesting last night’s dinner.

*yawn* Moo has a thing. A travel-y thing. We wish her luck. We’ll pick her up in the middle of the next night. Is that tonight or tomorrow morning? Who can tell?

*yawn* The boy one is here, but I dunno what he’s doing after he sleeps his face. Sassy has a thing, too…

*yawn* Later today, when it’s actually a day, The Mister is taking me to a very special meal. Maybe they have doors, but they definitely have pie.

*yawn* Okay, I’ve been up more than a whole hour. That’s enough morning for me, thanks. Time to snuggle up and catch s’more zees. Zs? Zzzs? Whatever, I hate morning. Twice on a Saturday. *yawn*

  1. Each working day, our alarms ring at 4 am, 4.10 am, 4.15.am. And then amore gets up and goes to work. Sometimes I even don’t go back to sleep from my own free will, without things. Imagine that.

I CANNOT imagine that. I mean, I can, cause a long time ago I worked mornings at Starbucks, left the house at 4:45, but that was to make money. If you don’t have to do it for money or family WHY on earth would you do it?!? LOL I can’t relate.

Early morning Joey is such a fun Joey. No coffee? Oh, that can’t be right. 4:00 am travel things? Who does that. Well, I’ve find that, but not without coffee.

    Enjoy the Zzzs 😴😴

Morning Joey is barely human. The Zzzs were great! I don’t think I could have stomached coffee. It was clearly a sleeping time. Did I mention those Zzzs were great? 🙂

You get bonus point for successfully navigating 4 am, with matching socks, to see Moo off on her adventure. Naps will be your reward. Naps are glorious. Happy Saturday! 🙂

Morning, Joey. Your reward is pie. Think pie. And when you sink your teeth into that pie and take your first swallow, the middle of the nights will be all but forgotten. 😘

Ouch. Getting up early when you don’t really want to is the pits. Putting on matching socks and shoes is medal worthy. You have earned pie and naps. I used to get up at 4 without trying. Now I don’t get to sleep until 4 and sleep until 8. Happy Saturday.

  7. I hope you’re sleeping the sleep of the contented right now and not even looking at comments. Pie wouldn’t be my choice of reward, but I know you’ll enjoy yours. Happy rest-of-Saturday (and “rest” in all senses.)

Atta girl. In a dream world, I don’t use an alarm. I seem to average a 9 o’clock wake up at this point. It’s gotten earlier and earlier as I’ve gotten older. The alarm goes off at 7 these days. Someday they may match up. If this pattern continues and I stay alive long enough 🙂

Good grief, 4 am is such an unholy hour. The second wind of sleep will do you good so that there will be no yawning when the Mister takes you out for a meal.

It’s a wonderful thing to be able to go back to bed for snuggles and more zzzz’s. I did that too after the dogs got me up early and I had to feed them. Enjoy that pie!

yes – you were up before me – but I got up at 6 am (habit) and then crashed again (like you – and got more Z’s of ZZZZs) and had some darn good sleep after that.
    🙂
Also, funny you should say the matching shoes and socks – because that is a big thing – lol –
and I usually match my socks and if it that busy season to where I canot match – usually have some that are close. But last week – had one of those seriously rushed days (nine minutes to get ready and out – and I did it – “I am woman – hear me roar”) but the socks were grabbed in a hurry and were very mismatched – one thin and tall and one so thick my foot was squished all day (the shoes needed thin)- but both were black.

Hope your special meal is great

I am glad you got up and out in 9 minutes! What a feat! 😀
I always match my socks. Too many sensory issues not to. My Sassy doesn’t match hers though. She mostly wears those thin anklet socks, so none of those are matched. It’s kinda fun for her I think. Look down at one zebra and one Hello Kitty. Moo has not been matching her socks, but she doesn’t like that, she’s mad at herself, I can tell, because she said, “I NEED SOCKS!” at about 4:30 and rambled about needing to devote some time to laundry. I said, “Third drawer,” so I guess she wore mine. By the by, she has more socks than anyone in the house, so I judge her a lil bit 😉

one zebra and one hello kitty – that is awesome.
and it is so funny how socks really could be talked about.
I once posted about how I had all these Nike and Polo ankle socks (in my size) when sons 1 and 2 grew enormous feet (no longer even close to my size) – well most of theirs were in good shape because they were growing so fast and for a short while – we had the same foot size.
ad funny that Moo has more socks than anyone – we are all so different –

and Joey – it sucked getting ready that fast – but it amazes me at how effiecient we can be when the pressure is on.
One day last month I was up early (still not 4 am – wink) but I had about 60 minutes to get ready and started running late because I was not being efficient.

I forget the name of the rule, but something like rule about if you give your self two days to do something you will do it in two – but if you give yourself four – it will take four

I really like that, and it’s true. All of the mommies and I have talked about that. It’s like when you first stop working, you do all these things, take on all these projects and you have all the time in the world — first, you’re really structured and get a lot accomplished and then after a few months you keep taking on new projects, but you rarely finish any, because YOU HAVE ALL THE TIME IN THE WORLD! lol
How did you feel the rest of the day with the tiny prep time? Did you feel rushed all day or settle into it?
I still have a few athletic socks that were my son’s when he was younger. You’re right, they outgrew them before they wore them out!
I would like, and shall attempt, to get up earlier in the warmer months, to have some daylight to myself and to work in my garden before it gets hot. I was not particularly successful at this last summer, and hope this one I may do a better job of honoring my own bleedin wishes.

Oh Joey – that early morning garden time just gave me a bit of excitement about the summer season to come (before it gets too hot)

Ok – my day after that quick get ready – I switched cars and forgot the smart tag and so had to take a non-toll back way – that ended up working out to be the same time but I got behind a bus and had to do some self-talk on not hating busses – it was five minutes (think of the Children and the education land the gift of busses and not aloof in mood as the cross walk lady seemed to not care that we were waiting all those minutes)
I grabbed coffee and threw some cocoa powder in it (with u on sweetened almond milk- gives a nice taste and boost from cocoa – but no time to add butter which makes it more Delish) and I spilled the cocoa powder cow it was a new container and I was rushing – I poked the safety seal and powder went on my blazer – but wiped right off- –
so I made it almost on time (I am usually early so non issue) but here is the thing – I looked down and cocoa powder was on my sleeve and pant leg! It came right off….
I took my morning vitamins and felt kind of grateful – and seriously I think I needed that extra sleep –

Oh and good analogy about the stay at home schedule – that phase in my life was my least favorite – a “vortex of fucking time” and I strongly prefer being a working momma – just fits me

Mmhm. I can’t believe you just swore. LOL and with an F, Y! Hehehehe!

Sometimes that extra sleep is worth it, just like sometimes the lack of it is 😉

I think it played into my anxiety, all that time home with the kids. I don’t regret it a bit, but working me is very happy now and now is what matters 🙂

Same here – on the now and the happy/content
And yeah – dropped an f bomb (even tho many times I live vicariously through some of your heartfelt rants that include a swear word and mention of joys – like going bra-less – and all the stuff you write for many of us who can’t or don’t – lol –
But that f-bomb shows how passionate I am
About that stay-at-home mode (can be funky or low you said – gets all in the weeds as projects pile or people assume it is this easy breezy life phase – anyhow – enough of that)

You poor dear. The things we do for love and money, amirite? Oh man, driving then is terrible. I mean, there’s no traffic, but…. I used to take Jake to 5am PT — and if the other kids weren’t home, I had to drag the littles, too. Those were never good mornings.
      THE PIE WAS PHENOMENAL.

    Then stayed up because hungry.

Now need to stop futzing around – and go back to bed.

Much unpacking to do, and I’m useless when this tired.
