Busy Countin Blessings

I’m not sayin I’ve been busy, I’m just sayin — Last night I had a dream that my dog was bleedin to death and there was nothin I could do. I was helpless. Only a matter of time. Her death was imminent. And yet — In my dream, as I lay beside her, I was impatiently thinkin I don’t have time to hold my dog while she bleeds out — I got too much shit to do.

Lemme just take a moment to count my blessings.
I am home, bathed, fed, comfortably adorned in pajama pants and a sweatshirt, sittin on my sofa. And there’s this:

unnamed (83)

She’s fine.

Y’all been busy? Countin yer blessings?

Since my heart surgery in 2011 I’ve been telling myself that no matter what else happens, every day that I can be vertical is a GOOD day. So yes, we should all count our blessings more often.
    Thanks for the reminder πŸ™‚

  7. I’m trying to chill about the brain fog not going away yet from the new meds (which I just upped a tiny bit). I don’t have much initiative, or energy, but it’s supposed to get better – eventually.

Meanwhile, I don’t have a house to deal with or try to sell, and our oldest daughter is visiting this weekend if all goes as planned, and middle son and FIANCEE coming at the end of the month.

I’m going to bed before midnight if I possibly can: the nights are now longer than the days, and I don’t want to miss a minute of daylight, but if I don’t go to sleep until 5 am, sleeping until 7 doesn’t work.

On the bright side, I don’t even have to worry about dinner. On the dark side, they have dessert every night, and if you don’t like what they have on the dessert table, there’s always ice cream. Sigh.

Hah! I love it! I just love that this has worked out. You know what you’re missing? All the leaves falling onto the ground so you have to call a guy out to bag em, plus all those thunderstorms that knock branches loose, and you gotta call another guy to haul those away… Not you — Not anymore! Poor Alicia, she has problems like Who will she dine with? What mode of transport will she choose? What writing is spilling out? Which dessert will make her smile? Ah, well done, well done ❀
PS: I hope the brain fog clears soon πŸ™‚

Yup, keeping busy here, but probably not as busy as you, Joey. No bad dreams either. Still feeling major gratitude for last vacation and some nice fall days to breathe in and feel alive. πŸ™‚πŸ˜Ž

  9. I was beginning to wonder if all was well, but glad the worst issue is you’re busy and having the occasional bad dream. Whew. I finished deadheading the last bed, am going to a gardening class today and a fabric demonstration tomorrow. Life is good here too. πŸ™‚

A dream like that one would certainly be an eye-opener!

My problems in this world are petty and immaterial. I’m grateful.

Girl you need to slow down and take a break. May I suggest some day drinking and mindless TV? As for counting blessings I count them every morning I wake up. Take care of yourself.

I’m counting my blessing but it doesn’t mean I’ve given up my right to snark a little bit along the way. No one likes a Pollyanna, do they?

Oh God, what a horrible thing to dream, but especially to think in said dream that you have zero time for a beloved pet who’s dying! This hits home… real hard. I’m so thankful for the thirteen years we got with our lil guy and I’m looking forward to the next decade or so with my new girl. Thank you for reminding us to be grateful for everything we get in this messed up life!

oh that shot of Sadie was adorable – and sometimes these dreams can startle us to appreciate or even change –
When my children were little – I had a dream that I kept going to help someone with a house fire while my husband and children watched – I cannot recall all the details (although it might be in a. journal somewhere) but I know how it impacted me – – I made sure I made more time for the family -and watched my outreach.

Been WAY busy! We went to the Imaginarium Creative Writing convention this past weekend; we had a room party, so I was cooking all week and standing all weekend. I am bexzausted!!! So much people! So many food! Home, in comfy clothes, and my husband did the grocery shopping so I could sleep and sleep and sleep. I’ll have to borrow somebody else’s hands and feet to count all my blessings, girl!

Crap, man, that’s an awful dream. AWFUL. I also perfectly understand where it comes from because sometimes I’m so overwhelmed by the To Dos of my life that even my dreams get twisted. Counting blessings here as well.

Horrible but what a relief to wake up. That dream is telling you something. I remember those days of too much to do and feeling overwhelmed. You’re a great mama for kids and pets, but you need to take care of you too- quality time time.
