I guess Just Jot It January is Busy today.
I’m busy! Yay! (well it’s not good business to have nothing to do, now is it?) Besides, I’d rather be overwhelmed than idle. I’m not good at idle. You ever had a boring job? Like mind-numbingly dull? I.can’t.do.it.
Today I left early, having to collect babies. I had already secured my peaceful evening by asking The Mister, “Can it be egg sammich night?” around 3:30.
I am so clever, because he loves egg sammiches.
Tomorrow I shall fetch takeout. Unless he wants to make pancakes. Prolly takeout.
I’m about to experience a busyness reduction because swim season is wrappin up. I’m pretty sure only one kid is doing spring fings, but either way, less demanding than swim. Shout out to The Mister for all those early practice drop-offs while I snooze on. We tease him all the time about what a great Swim Mom he is, but damn, we appreciate him.
I jotted! I’d insert my JusJoJan badge, but I only have last year’s.
Can you believe I used to do JusJoJan every year? HOW did I do that? Did I get up earlier? Maybe it’s because I wasn’t a good sleeper then. I’m a much better sleeper now. Look at that, it’s almost nine and I’m tired. In the words of Moo, “It’s naptime.”
I remember the absolute most boring job I ever had, and it was for a couple of builders. About two weeks a month, I was busy paying bills, etc. The other two weeks, I read books except for when the phone rang. I thought I would lose my mind. So, even though they were family friends, neighbors, and good people, I had to find another job and move on. Never again. Busy is best. 🙂

YES! I went to an interview once and the man said, “So you can bring books and use the phone much as you like…” and immediately I thought of babysitting! Cept I wasn’t 15, so, umm, no, no thank you!

I admire anyone who can do Just Jot It January. I could never get myself together to do it because as you mention January is always so stinking busy. Surprises me every year. Hope you got your egg sammie. I like them, too.

Not an egg fan in general so I’ll pass on the sammies and just enjoy the catticus.

Idle is treacherous to the soul. In my experience, anyway. Busy, please, for the win.

I need to have something to keep me busy…..that said, if Catticus needs help napping–I’m here!

Well, who doesn’t like egg sammiches?? Nobody I want to be friends with, that’s who!

My job falls into a sine wave of activity. I either have overwhelmingly too much to do, or zero at the bottom of the wave. Then it starts all over again.

Busy is a good thing. The Mister being a good Swim Mom is a great thing. Looking forward to things settling down a little is a wonderful thing (as are egg sammiches).

Idle makes me bonkers. Can’t stand it.

When I worked I always prefered busy. Now that I don’t work I can better appreciate idle; up to a point. I had to replace the hard drive on my 2 year old laptop and now I am regathering the data. It is easy breezy with Chrome. However it is a pain in the A** when your better/bitter half forgets her Email pass word. I hate ‘puters. Have a nice Tuesday. Ohh I too love fried egg sammichs with raw onion.

That’s the worst part about getting a new computer! Every single time I get a new PC, I go ballistic with password troubles. I feel for you.

I have had very boring jobs and it does make the time go …. very …. very …. slowly. I’m better at fast paced anything except thinking. Don’t think well on my feet. I gotta think slow. I love egg sandwiches too.

Thinking slow is something I should try to do, to think things through — so fast thinking definitely has its downsides.

Got one of those boring jobs right now. I’m just thankful for National Public Radio (especially now that they’re in a pissin’ match with the prez…)

Since retirement, I have developed a twitch or a reflex where I unintentionally shoot a look at people that ask, “so what do you do to keep busy?” Deep breath. Count to ten. Ten, again, so twenty. Sometime, now long passed, I lost my ability to do or to feel bored. I forget what that felt like. When I discovered that I could do virtually anything I wanted I found myself very busy doing it. A boring job? Let me ponder that.

People asked me that all the time when I was staying home and the kids were in school. I always wondered if the questioner had no life of the mind or hobbies or a library card… I am seldom bored. When I try to remember being bored, it’s almost exclusive to medical exam rooms. Like, I waited out there, now I gotta wait in here….

Mmmmm, love egg sammiches. Especially with local eggs. So rich. So yaller. Drop drops on the plate and sop ’em up with the edge of the bread…. Yeah, you can tell I’m a fan, I guess. Love the Catticus picture! Wish I had a cuddle cat. Tipper will cuddle, but only when I’m awake. I’m like, Whuuuhhhhhh?

We have a swimmer, too, and the hubby’s been handling morning drop-off and I STILL can’t wait for this season to be done. Everything is nutty, he’s exhausted most all the time, our bedtime routine is wonky, it’s all NUTS. Today was his last practice, tomorrow’s his last meeting, and then thank heavens we’re nearly done with winter basketball. Of course the girl’s decided to play travel ball in the spring so…send wine. 😳

OHHH, travel teams. Wine en route, Laura! 😀

Mmmm…egg sammiches! I like to be idle in the morning because I move in slow motion. After that, I’m usually doing something until I head to bed. 🙂 I’m glad your busyness will slow down. Miss Sunshine will be starting school soccer soon, but now she drives. Hooray!

Yay for things slowing down. We had nothing in January and won’t for the first half of this month. Soccer for both kids will be in full swing by the end of the month, though.
