Couldn’t Complain. Wasn’t Tuesday.

Somethin is wrong with The Mister. He cleaned our gutters! and repaired our gutters! Then he pruned our apple trees!!! and cut up the fallen branches in the yard!!! He weed-whacked and mowed the grass. Did I ask him to do any of this? No. No, I did not. He just went and did all that.

sexy beast

And then, when he was in error about instructions he gave me, which I knew, because I have ears and all that, he said, “I STAND CORRECTED.”

New moon tonight.

Have I mentioned I hate working from home? Yeah, I do. I think my one boss is losing his mind without support staff. Like, I may go in tomorrow and find his brain, wearing glasses of course — his brain on I dunno, Mr Potato’s shoes, just hoppin around his desk, lookin for the right papers. If you’re a man who doesn’t need a woman around to find your things, I’m gonna need the woman in your life to sign an affidavit to that effect. You may be brilliant but can you find things?

we think not

The ache in my back seems to have fallen out during one of my Tuesday naps. Which is odd, because I thought today was Tuesday, when really I lost Tuesday, and today wasn’t Tuesday which you may or may not have known before this, but you should now know it’s Wednesday. Maybe you won’t read this until Thursday. I don’t wanna confuse you. I just really want my neck and shoulder aches to fall away too. They can’t fall out until my head stops being so heavy.

I lay my head on The Mister and he said, “Ow!” so I moved away and asked “What?!” and he said, “Your head is too heavy!” and I was like, “I know, I’m sorry,” and leaned back to my own side. But then he laughed and laughed cause he was kidding, cause it’s only heavy to meeeeeeee! Sad LOLZ.

Sometimes all we can do is LOL.
And sleep it off.

I can honestly say I can find about 50% of stuff by myself. Of the remaining 50% Clara helps me to find it. Of course a lot of that has been “rearranged: by her. Usually after hitting the scotch bottle.

  2. A man who does things like clean out the gutters is a keeper. Period.

Glad mine is doing the things that need doing that I can’t – in exchange, he got a nice haircut yesterday, and a manicure. Yup. Even though my shoulder is still killing me.

    He looks much tidier.

      • I also just found out I may be able to get PT right here in our apartment for it. I’m waiting for them to call back. We can’t go downstairs to the rehab department, but one on one they can come up if it’s ‘an essential service.’ It’s getting better every day, but it’s still, four weeks later, painful, awkward, and undependable. This falling apart bit is a pain.

I shall not be asking for an affidavit, so yer just gunna have to trust me on this. I am the more organized, but I do at times ask, “have you seen…” and she has. But like yesterday, she said.
“if I knew where such and such was I would fix this, but I probably threw it away.” I mumbled, “I know where it is.” I got it and fixed the thing. She asked, “where was it?” I said, “on my desk.” But, I do not disagree. the proof is that our kids never started a sentence with “Dad, do you know where my …. is?” Cuz I never did. But Mom did.

Wow! A gutter-putter-chorer who is self-nagged is the best kind! Glad he is getting it done and you are getting better. I am as unorganized as any of the guys that live here so we need no affidavit. My husband is better at computer stuff. My son is best at cleaning. My brother is best at fixing. Me, knitting? Being bossy? I dunno. Not sure it is a gender thing. But if it works for you use it!!!!!

I have no concept of men who know where things are. Nope. Never worked for one who did, never been romantically involved with one who did, my dad, my son, my friends’ husbands, nope 😛

Guess I fall with the men you would have needed to find things for. My filing system (not in the office) is rather a vertical pile separated by date of receipt. First husband was anal with papers. Current is similar to me. But then he’s too broken to fix gutters, so…

Can your mister talk to mine? Not that I want him up high on a ladder cleaning gutters, just maybe getting out of bed before noon? Hard for him not working, when I am working enough for both of us…sigh…

Work is like, REALLY good for my anxiety. At work, I have everything I need and everyone is sharing the same goals. I can focus. Also, I get 30 minutes alone every day, during my drives 🙂

After all these years, my wife and I both seem to have our special places where we put things we don’t want to lose. Of course we never think to look there, but…

Never question a man who cleans the gutters.

Learning to sleep and ignore stuff like a cat would be wonderful.

I hope you get to go back to work – and be safe doing it – soon.

That Mister person is a keeper! I’m glad your one ache fell out, and I’m huffing and puffing and blowing your other aches away. It’s Friday when I’m reading this, so maybe your aches are already gone, in which case I claim credit.

My husband is doing the same thing! He went out and cut the grass without being nagged. He’s doing some other fix-it things around the house/yard, too, it’s nice to see him take initiative. Forget knowing where anything is, though. He buried his fucking phone last week.

  28. Sorry to hear about your aches; used to be you get aches during the work week cause of all the work stress and then you look forward to the weekend to relax but now with the Shelter in Place everyday is the same so your body doesn’t know when the weekend is here. Your back ache finally said, hell I’m out here. Only solution to a heavy head is to drink until you get light headed! If this makes any sense you’ve been SIP too, long!

Hope you and the family stays healthy and safe!

I looove that snuggly wuggly kitty pic! 😻 I like to think I’m pretty good at finding stuff, but I have misplaced a few things lately and can’t for the life of me remember where they are. I got so desperate the other day that I asked my daughter to ask her tarot cards where something was, but I still don’t have a clue. Worthless tarot cards! 🙃
I hope your head gets to feeling less heavy soon, Joey! ❤

Sounds like The Mister was super productive! We finally hired out the gutter cleaning. My husband likes to do all home repairs and upkeep so that was a hard one. One part of the house is essentially 3 stories high and I would be a stressball if anyone in my house was climbing all over up there. However, the boys mowed and the hubby cleaned up the garage this past weekend. Plus, the boys are painting all the trim and doors that I’ve been waiting for 7 years to complete!! Yay! White trim instead of pinkish off white. I am the finder in our home. A few weeks ago my daughter needed help finding something and I told her to ask her dad to help her to which she replied, “you’re the only one who can actually find things.” lol. I’m glad you are feeling better.

I’m reading this on Tuesday, (late again) but I had to think for a minute to be sure and I remembered NCIS was on a couple hours ago, so it must be Tuesday. I can’t shake the image of your boss’s brain on “Mr Potato’s shoes, just hoppin around his desk, lookin for the right papers.” It’s still tickling my brain. I know where things are 95% of the time with the exception being when I put something in a very special place so it won’t get lost. I’m very glad you’re feeling better and hope that head and neck stuff get dropped off soon. My headaches usually involve my neck. Sometimes a cold compress helps my head, but heat helps my neck. Anyway, sounds like you’re healing well and the Mister is taking good care of you with all that house stuff.

Ah! Someone else whose head is heavy as a boulder, we should form a club. My mister tried rubbing my neck tonight to try to make a dent in the headache but eventually threw up his hands with a “you’ve gotta relax! you’re like a rock!”. My relax-a-ma-thingie is broken and I don’t know how to fix it.
