I am writing this while I’m 84 blog posts behind in my reading.
The life. It goes on. And on and on, and oh my goodness am I glad it’s Door and Kitten Day! I love Thursday!
Writing this while my family sleeps. I take my hours when I can get em.
The quality of doors here chez ma blog has been a skosh bit lacking lately.
Now, the spirit of #ThursdayDoors is more about lifestyle than goal, and lemme tell you, I’m committed to the dooring lifestyle. Let me show you. From a Desktop file labeled DREGS.
I take pictures of doors when I’m up too early.

the sun does not care about me or my photos.
I take pictures of doors when I’m out too late.

you didn’t think i was gonna get outta the car, didja?
I take pictures when doors disappoint me on a Saturday afternoon.

cannot pick up glasses with hme

can’t pick up pizza, either.
(Both of these are at 75th and Shadeland. Thank heavens there’s a Starbucks over there. No one should be so sad on a Saturday afternoon.)
I take pictures of non-traditional doors.

yes, do.
I take pictures of doors while The Mister chats to everyone and his brother.

introverts, we’ll do anything to avoid the talking
I take pictures of doors I will never walk through again…

i worked here
… and of doors I wish I saw more often.

that’s oberweis and indy doesn’t have one
I’ve actually got two related doors in DREGS, should a doormergency occur, or like, if something inspires me to share them.
Still, can we all just hope I get some doorscursion time soon?!?
#ThursdayDoors is part of an inspired post series run by Norm Frampton. To see other doors of interest, or to share your own, click the link and find the frog.
I love the late night street photo – that is very nice. I see why you stayed in the car, not a welcoming area, but you snagged a very good picture.
I like the other ones, especially with your explanation – extra-especially about the way introverts will do anything to avoid conversation. “I’d love to chat, but Joey just posted her doors…gotta go.”
I hope life settles down long enough to allow you some time off.

Thanks! You should see how pretty the filters on Instagram make that night shot. I almost impressed myself! Hah! I really did want to get out, but safety first!
Glad you found my introvert caption relatable.
It’s the end of school year madness, Phew! Even my Saturday starts at 5, has a thing at 10, and ends after the thing at midnight. Rumor has it there’s a holiday weekend at the end of the month… ๐

I think that photo is very good just as it is. I’m not familiar with Instagram, so I can’t imagine the filters.
I can imagine the 5:00 am to midnight thing. I only had to do that for a brief period, and I don’t miss it.

I’m with Dan–I love the nighttime doors but glad you stayed in the car. Door locked, windows up? No pizza on a Saturday?? WTH is up with that? Yeah, introverts….I keep that camera in front of my face. No talking, please…..

Great post and doors, Joey, in spite of the fact that you didn’t get out. Hope that changes for you, soon. Nothing like a bit of fresh air on a doorscursion ๐ (In dry weather, of course).

Saturday, maybe. In between things. If the weather’s good. Thanks, Jean ๐

I love the nighttime photo. It’s the kind that would make a good book cover for a mystery author, or a horror story of some kind.

Well it’s mine and I took it and if you ever want it, it’s yours ๐ Thanks!

As an introvert, Iโve done a lot of things to avoid talking, but I never thought to take pictures of doors. Now Iโll have so many pictures of doors on my phone, Iโll run out of storage. ๐

Nice dregs. LOL about taking pictures to get out of talking. Many times I’ve just stood there smiling while the hubby chats away. I’ll have to try picture taking.

Thanks! I will do just about anything to avoid chit chat! ๐

Door dregs are interesting. I rarely remember to take a photo of a door, so I’m rarely part of Norm’s series. But you are impressive, snapping the pic, sharing the door– a true door lifestyle enthusiast. Good job.

Who closes early or worse, doesn’t even open: on SATURDAY?!
The night shot and those metal locker/mailbox (?) doors are my faves. “Doormergency” eh? I think you’ve just coined another one that we’ll all be using ๐

Thanks, thanks, and thanks again! ๐

There are those days, aren’t there, Joey? Glad you survived and I hope your Thursday is going well. Dregs work, too, and sometimes they’re all we have, a bit like running on fumes (speaking of which, thank goodness for the S’bux!)

It was a good day here, too. I got out to work in the garden for a bit in the morning, then mostly inside.

84 behind? Aw, that’s nothing.ย I’ve gotten that up to over 500.
That shop that closes on Friday at sunset and stays closed until Sunday is likely run by a Jewish family. Am I right?
75th and Shadeland… that’s my old side of town, if I’m not mistaken.

That IS your old side of town. It’s my ‘almost a lifetime’ side of town, John ๐
It may well be Jewish. The guys in there are assorted colors and cultures, but the owner may well be Jewish.
I am now 118 behind and if I were 500 behind, I might would abandon my email and cry LOL!

You’re working too much to go grab some doors, and I should just stop gardening and do it. I like your dregs though, well, except for the one where you couldn’t get your glasses. Hope life settles down, but I thinking you’re just one busy lady. ๐

Good mercy, Judy, DO NOT stop gardening! ๐
Thank you!
A forty hour work week is fine, it’s the end of school year madness that wears a mama out! Supposedly there’s a holiday weekend at the end of the month ๐

I thoroughly enjoyed your pictures and the captions even more. Is that a pizza place closed on Saturday??? Oh, well, to each his own. I don’t think I will ever be caught up on blog reading.

I love, love, love your night door image! I can tell you how to deal with the sunrise image so the door isn’t in a shadow…it’s bit more work, but worth it if you want both the sky and door exposed right.
Don’t feel bad…we don’t have Oberweis either, and I bet their ice cream, and milk are amazing!
I’m grateful we have the Strauss Family Dairy. They have wonderful milk in old fashioned glass bottles, and the best European style Yogurt I’ve ever had here in the States. Now if I could just remember to take my bottles back to get back my deposit He-Man and my wallet would be very happy, and I could free up that shelf in the garage that’s turned into a Strauss Milk Bottle Collection Shelf. Yep, I’m bad at returning the bottles, and I rarely take in my own bags too, so, I get charged for the paper bags. Sigh!

Your doors still are distinguished and interesting. I like alley doors and windows covered back up with bricks. I may not have a full comprehension of the place that is not in Indy that you like. . . Hi and hugs, Joey! xo
I remember saying a choice swear word in the early days of raising kids as a single Mom and my Dad instead of scolding, saw my kids scatter to their rooms and proudly saying, “See how THAT works?!” ๐
