Ah, Lido Beach Sarasota.
It could have been anywhere.
We had vacation before our vacation, in-between our vacations, and after our vacation. What we didn’t do was hurry.
Sarasota was lovely, all over, even if I’m not good at sitting around in the sun, I have to admit, there’s a certain appeal. It’s peaceful. You don’t much lift a finger and the scenery is gorgeous, even if it’s not my kinda scenery. People do go on about palm trees…
Yes, part of the time, we submitted ourselves to traditional vacationing by staying in a luxury hotel with a gulf view, because, well, it’s a cliche for a reason!
Get up in the morning, open the curtains, lie in bed for a while, let the view work its wonders on you before waking the children.
Eat a meal and watch dolphins jump and swim from the oceanfront dining room.
Go play at the beach.
Go swim in the pool.

Is this the kind of vacation you like? I think it’s nice for a day or two, then I get restless. I like to go and do and see.

I LOVE a vacation like that. But no beaches for us this year which is a bummer. But we took a big trip to London in March so that was it for us this year. Luckily we went when the Euro was down and the dollar strong (still is). Makes the trip that much more satisfying.

Sounds like you had a wonderful time. I agree with you about it getting old after a while. I am as big a fan of eating,drinking and resting as any one,but it is nice to check out what is over the mountain. So to speak.

Joey, oh what a beautiful paradise. Your view was fantastic and glad you could see dolphins while eating, too.
I would like to be like Sheryl Crowe sings about soaking up the sun someday (again) in a beautiful location.
I enjoy my Mom while she is here, being close to her for a week up at Lake Erie, is fun and never boring. The bonus of grandies was fantastic to add extra activity for their 3 days visiting. 🙂

The photos of the beaches in Florida do look enticing, but I’m not a beach person. It goes along with my dislike for seafood. I like to go do things instead of sit around and do nothing. I can only do that for so long.
