“GOD IS THE BEST COOK!” I yell to no one as I stand at the counter, shoving forkfuls of watermelon into my mouth.
One-Liner Wednesday is brought to you by LindaGHill
Yes! Been at that counter, with that fork. Mmmmmm, summer 🙂

I’m arriving for a 4-hour meeting. But the have watermelon. 🍉🍉🍉
Who needs a fork? 😉
I love yelling out to no one in particular!
And mumbling to no one? 😛
Oh yeah. Kind of goes with the territory…
Me too 🙂
Good point! There’s no need to cook watermelon.
It’s nature’s candy!
It’s a party in my mouth! 😛
There is nothing to add to that comment. One thing I have learned chefin’ is sometimes you just need to stand out of the way of the food. Happy Watermelon Day.

Yes!! I like watermelon ice cold. I don’t even mind the seeds. “)
Right on! I don’t think the seedless ones are near as sweet and juicy.
How else are you going to have seed-spitting contests?
LOL! Exactly!!! 🙂
Yum so true!
I’ve been watermelon cursed this summer. I can’t seem to get a good one to save my life.
I was having the SAME experience! None of the old clues were holding up, and I took to buying the pre-cuts so I could see with my own eyes!
Even those are tricking me. I’ve just given up. Even my kids aren’t asking for it anymore.
I had that with cantaloupe a few years back and then I read that it was a whole thing cause rain and crops and all that.
That’s a great idea….cantaloupe! Best of all, no one eats it but me so it’ll be all mine.
Slice of watermelon, chili powder, splash of lime juice. Great summer snack
If it’s not sweet enough, I’ll salt it. I’ll also put it in tequila with its juices, but this particular batch was perfect as is! 😛
Just bought one at the grocery store yesterday and it is almost gone already!!! Yay watermelon!
Yum yum! 🙂
I agree … The Ultimate Master Chef!
Yes, He is! Especially when God gives us juicy southern peaches and golden honeydew at Costco. I haven’t had much watermelon this summer, but probably because I’ve been focusing on the honeydew for the last two months.
I’ve been all about cherries, and stone fruits overall, but yeah, ain’t nothin like some good, ripe melon 😀
Moo is my honeydew fiend. I’ll have to check it out at the farmer’s market tomorrow.
Nom nom nom…
Oh, I often talk to myself, Joey 🙂
We usually get the already cut up pieces, since just the two of us can’t eat a whole watermelon. They most always taste great. 🙂
I agree. That’s my winter watermelon choice as well 🙂
Yay for watermelon! I need to get some more before the summer comes to an end.
I KNOW! See, it’s just now gettin good here and it’s so exciting! I totally thought of you when I wrote this post, Amy 🙂
Tasty! And what an interesting thought.

Thank you 🙂
LOL that was me this afternoon. Cut a fresh watermelon for BG, gave it a taste and completely forgot to give her any as I chowed down.
Haha! Oh, I know it well! 😀
I am SO bummed, cause I went back out tonight lookin for more, and ain’t none of it red and seeded… I was at the bloody buggery Walmart and it was like the twilight zone in there… Imma have to hit the farmer’s market tomorrow!
Good luck to you on your quest. Watermelon is summer’s sole redeeming quality.
It’s fantastic on its own, and really yummy with a bit of mint and feta cheese. 🙂
Yeah… I believe I got that idea from you!
But, I only do that for company 😉
T’is ! Only thing better than a perfectly ripened watermelon is corn on the cob!
Damn skippy! 😀 I love eatin this time of year!
Pretty sure I could live off of watermelon. *happy sigh*
There was this guy in Chicago that sold watermelons out of the back of his truck, which was painted with a picture of him sitting with a bunch of watermelons around him. They were really good. My guess is the guy isn’t still there…
I love berries and pineapple, sometimes a very sweet watermelon!! Summer brings yummy zucchini, tomatoes and sweet Vidalia onions. Fun one liner, Joey.
There is no better time to eat fresh food! This is the life! 😀
The best and we are lucky to be close to farms and gardens.
