#ThursdayDoors — Old Times Two

Relying on my door savings account today.

IMG_4803

My nephew went to SomePlaces, Europe sometime last spring and took this picture. I got it from him in June and am just now sharing it, so it’s old times two. I dunno what it is or where it is. No history to share. Please don’t go all Identify-That-Bird-Crazy and fight with one another about where or what it is.

What’s interesting to me is that Simon is not a door connoisseur, nor does he know about my love for #ThursdayDoors — He was simply a young man traveling and he thought this door was interesting enough to photograph.

(Most of Simon’s photos were of food, because he’s good people, y’all.)

#ThursdayDoors is part of an inspired post series run by Norm Frampton. To see other doors of interest, or to share your own, click the link and find the frog.

Nothing wrong with mostly food photos… I do like this doorway. I also like what looks like a shutter off to the left. Very nice.

It’s always nice to have leftovers handy.

  2. Our group’s off to an early start this morning. I like the door and its surroundings, but I completely understand the food photo thing, too. The trick is to get the photo before eating the food! πŸ™‚ Happy Thursday, Joey.

Nice door pic, great kid for sending it to you. Maybe all good people have a natural inclination to notice doors, and Norm was the first to pick up on this fact!

Now that is a door. Well the door not so much but that whole thing around it. It has a plaque so it must be an official door. I think you ought to have a “Name that Thing” Contest. The winner gets an autographed Simon food pic. Happy Thursday to you.

Simon has an eye for interesting doors. Perhaps we should try to recruit him πŸ˜‰
It’s nice to make use of pics from the door bank cause that’s what they’re there for but I hope the wind dies down so you can get out again soon. In the meantime stay warm.

  11. He’s a latent doorscursion guy! +1!
The upper most busy part of the door I see a clown face which creeps me out a bit. I’m still ascared of clowns. Yeah, I know I’m old. A Grown Up. I know in my head they’re mostly supposed to be all about being funny and all, but uhhh. Clowns. Yeah. No! Spooky! Scary! I’m not into them. I don’t trust the Elephants in the Zoo or Circus either. Let’s just let them go back to the wild and be free! There in the wild seeing them in their natural habitat; I’ll be more comfortable, but clowns. I’m not seeing a natural habitat for those. The Circus you say. Ummmm K. I’m not goin there!
I digress. Your ever so old, languishing in the archives image; the bottom where we get to the door. It’s nice! I love the shape of it, and it’s not clownish at all. “)

Wherever it is, they do not seem to mind stringing a big ol’ chain across the walkway. Must be an important place.

  15. That is quite the magnificent door and entryway. Even if I hadn’t stumbled upon my love of door, I’d probably have snapped this pic as well! Thanks for sharing Joey!

  16. I see the German symbols on many of the shields so it’s possible it is on Germany and it might have some historical value cause I see an illegible plaque on the right. Doesn’t matter, its a great door find/photo.
You have to use the Force and lure him to the darkside of door blogging (his name isn’t Luke, by chance?). Nice stimulating post!
