Jot!

jjj-2018

My Thursday made up for the rest of the week. It will be hard to top Thursday, but I hope Friday tries.

It’ll be sunny with a high of 38, which may thaw some things out today, including me. The wind will only blow at nineumph. That’s what Moo would say, “The wind’s blowing at thirteenumph.” Reminds me of when I was a kid and I thought the signs read, “duck zing” and “pedestrian zing” which is why I once tried to play XING in Scrabble — a little special, but not as special as the people who think the ducks are looking for signage. I was never young enough to think the ducks were reading.

Happy Friday Everyone!

    I like that, “umph.”

When we were in California years ago, my mother couldn’t understand what “PED XING” (or sometimes “XING PED”) meant on the roads. When someone explained that it was a pedestrian crossing, she felt quite silly.

It’s the wind that gets me!! We have deer xing all around here. When we were young and traveling, my brother asked what the signed with the crossed out “P” meant. My dad told him that meant it was illegal to pee there. When he realized that my brother didn’t get that he was joking, he quickly remedied it by telling him it meant “no parking”.
