Share Your World #25

How many languages do you you speak?
I speak two languages and I fumble and mumble through two others like people do when they don’t think in those languages. Don’t make me tell you how I cook a lot and I need a bigger pig. I know what I mean.

What are some words that just make you smile?
lollipop, parapluie, ice cream, moon, Ma’am, rum, and a lot of our family’s shared language

If you were the original architect of one existing building, which building would you select?
I dare not. There are none that fit my ideal. If I were to design a building, it would be made of earth and stone, with narrow wooden doors, and everything would be just a bit crooked. It’d be covered in vines and birds would visit more than people.
I did once build a very nice yellow house, because Lego.

Would you rather have telepathy or telekinesis?
Telepathy on top of feeling other people’s emotions sounds like a good way to go mad. People would just lie about what they’re thinking like they lie about how they feel. I’d take telekinesis. Imagine how long I could sit on my sofa while the drinks literally come to me? Can I get you anything?

Bonus question:  What are you grateful for from last week, and what are you looking forward to in the week coming up?
Last week was wonderful. I am most grateful my mother was here. Several times I just patted her and squealed, “MY MOMMY!” My heart was bursting! Watchin Deadpool with my mommy, eatin sammiches with my mommy, talkin plants with my mommy, lookin through pictures with my mommy! My mommy, y’all! I don’t call her mommy a lot. Mostly I call her Maman, but some days, she’s MY MOMMY.
This week I am excited about re-learning old things and also, brace yourselves, finishing the back hallway! Can you imagine?

I think women already have enough telepathy, or something like telepathy. My wife knows what I’m thinking/feeling without me having to say it. On the other hand, it might be safer to give you gals something you already kinda-sorta have than the ability to set stuff on fire just by thinking about how you might like to see it burn.

I wouldn’t mind telekinesis if it only involved moving things from somewhere to you. Moving rocks and knives and sharp stuff toward others would not be part of my plan…just sayin.

Great job, as always, with this edition of SYW.

I dont think I could deal with telepathy either..and telekinesis just makes me think that traveling would be so much easier..
I do speak three languages, if sarcasm formal and sarcasm informal count. 😛
I love your earth & stone idea for a house..but wifi & stone dont play well 😉
Rum, is a great word. Groovy, also makes a good word.

Seeing my grandpa yesterday was nice, and dinner with the family was ok. So Im happy about that.
I hope the rest of your restorations go well. Im glad to hear about all the good things that have come to you lately. It makes me happy. 🙂

Thank you, I am also feeling good about the good stuff. It doesn’t make the bad stuff go away, but it makes it easier to bear.
Glad you got to see Grandpa 🙂
Imma disagree with you about stone and wi-fi cause Hermit Lady’s house is stone and she is an internet addict 😉
Rum is groovy, like Orb 😀

I hope your mommy enjoyed the turkey dinner that you made when she came (Sorry I am behind again)!!! I think having the skill of telekinesis would come in very handy! 🙂

I definitely wouldn’t want to be telepathic – I have enough trouble with an overactive imagination.

With some people, I already feel like I have a tiny bit of telepathy and you’re right, it is a good way to go mad. I would also love TK instead. I may or may not have moved a piece of plastic wrap once using the force. LOL.

Everyone should use the word Mommy at least once in a while. I would like a house built into the side of a hill. Like an old time sod buster.

Great you had a good week with your mum. We used to call ours ‘Ma’- very little house on the prairie.

I love your exuberance at being with your Mommy! I hope my daughter feels that way when she’s your age and beyond! I did see a house once, though, that I wished I had designed. Oh, now I want to find the photo again! I think it was in architectural digest years and years ago as an example of a super funky crooked super eclectic house. Gotta go search . . . .

Your dream house design sounds so peaceful and lovely! I think the most smiley word you’ve had recently is “Mommy” 🙂

Good answers and I’m with you on the telekinesis thing. If I want to know what others think, I’ll ask them, and if they want me to know they’ll tell me the truth. That sounds like the way it should be know?

I had to look up Parapluie. I’m going to use it next time I haul out the umbrella. People will ask questions and then think I’m smart. I don’t know a foreign language other than 1-10 in Spanish and German and my boss taught me the saying, “Besa mi culo.” Unfortunately, I keep forgetting to use the latter at dinner parties where no one knows what that means.

  18. I majored in Spanish, lived in a Spanish House section of a dorm with others like me. I was pretty immersed, used to dream in the language. It was a weird but fascinating time for me.

Love these Share Your World posts…always fun to read. ☺

I am with you on the Mommy part 😀 I do the exact same with MY MOMMY – randomly hug and snuggle, talk about random stuff, gardening, food and recipes… And just squeal when she is around 🙂

I like your answers. I’d like to add something more to the conversation, but I’m always a day late, dollar short here. [I usually take Mondays off from social media.] However, I’ll just say “hi” instead. 😉

Thanks for commenting on my blog post!
Um, there’s so much in your post to comment on – I’ll take the languages, because there’s a story to share.
One of the times we were hiking in Yosemite Nat. Park, there was a small group of Dutch people in front of us.This is a very favorite place of mine where I learned watercolor, and do my oil plein airs. When we come closer to this group, I hear one of the women starting to complain, actually b— about the USA, not one minute, but gong on and on.
Finally I say -in Dutch – to my hubby, how some people are so immature, and if they don’t like the country, they should leave and stay in Holland (which is my country of origin) -am making sure it’s loud enough. Needless to say it got VERY quiet in front of us.

  22. There was one thing this week that made me think about you. I got in the car, pulled out onto the highway, and there a wasp in there with me buzzing around. As I’m weaving around, opening the windows, and hoping that sucker would seek shelter elsewhere I got lucky. But I sure thought about your yellow jackets. 🙂

    • joey says:

HAHAHAHA! You know, I don’t panic about wasps of the regular wasp variety. I stepped on one years back, and nothing bad happened to me. Well, it hurt, but by dinner, it itched and the next day, it was like it never happened. NOT what happens to me when the yellow jackets get me!
I’m delighted you thought of me, thanks for sharing that! 😀
