This is a squee post.
It’s a girly, so kawaii, super cute, omagoodness totes dorbs kinda post.
While Moo had high hopes for birthday cupcakes, I had reservations.
The Flying Cupcake is enchanting.

The cupcake representative was friendly and helpful, and the bakery cases were filled with pretty choices.
Here are some of Moo’s choices:
Moo went for the jumbo cupcakes based on our cupcake rep’s suggestion to cut some of the cupcakes in halves or quarters for people who might like to try them all. Some people did want to try them all, and those people began to feel sugar sick, but Bubba they pushed through.
How were the cupcakes? Divine.
I highly recommend this place.
The whole experience ended up being a treasured time for Moo and me.

Looks like the perfect spot, Joey, and it apparently was. Must have been a great party (aside from sugar sickness). 🙂

What a great post. I just finished a short story that included the Kawaii Girls, so I am surprised to see that word here. In my next career, I want to be a cupcake representative. Great imagery in the shop too. It appeals to my “What kind of things would make a good Lisa Burton poster,” mentality.

Kawaii has been a thing for many years, but it’s a girly word. Like kyoot. 🙂 I don’t use these words much on my blog, but I have a rather girl-centered life, and so there they are.
Think Lisa needs to talk to some Japanese fashionistas?

I don’t know whether the Kawaii Girls will be one of her posters, or not. There are some other characters in the book that might be better. Stronger personalities and such.

Unfortunately, they do not ship their treasures…. 😦 That just means…ROAD TRIP!!

RIGHT ON! With six locations, you could make it a cupcake tour of sorts 🙂

That place looks awesome, I wished I lived closer!

I have to applaud the invention of the cupcake-centered pastry shop, even as I bemoan the increase in my wardrobe to accommodate more elastic waistbands.

I can almost feel the sugar rush from here. Love the decor.
Thankfully there was a cupcake professional on-hand to guide you through your choices.
Sounds like good fun was had by all – Yay!

Ooooooo! And I love their sneaky-peaky “Who tips better, men or women?” tip jars. Brilliant!

You’re right the place is pretty girly. Is kawaii a “thing” all the cools guys say? I think they ought to work on that door though. It is the portal to the Greatest cupcakes in the Universe after all. Maybe some Mother of pearl and enameled panels with lots of gilt. I am so glad everyone had a good time.

I’ve literally never heard a guy say kawaii…but all the girly girls, definitely. It’s a great place, and now I’ve discovered some new places to shop. Do you know there’s a butcher over there? Like, a REAL butcher shop?!? It was a great weekend, if too busy 🙂

Are you talking about Kincaids? Kaplinger used to be in that area a long time ago, they left and then a few years later was born again on Shadeland. Did you notice Byrne’s Grilled Pizza? They make a pretty good pie.

Yes! Yes! I will be going back over there in the next few weeks. Maybe we’ll have some pizza 🙂

We have a local tiny cupcake bakery like this one. It’s so cute, but I’m sad to say the cupcakes are lousy. However, knowing that your little cupcake shop is good gives me hope that, maybe, ours will get better. ‘Cuz omg totes dorbs is, like, awesome.

Yes, let’s keep hope for your local cupcake shop.
Nothin like a cuppa coffee and a cupcake in a girly-girl place 😀 With other girls 😀

I thought I finally got over my craving for cake and then you posted this…
I LOVE places like this (so cute and homey), especially when they offer vegan and gluten-free options. I suppose you and Moo stayed away from the healthy stuff and focused on the sugary good stuff, right? Any particular flavors that were your favorites?
LikeLiked by 2 people
We did stick to the sweetest of sweets 😀 I’ve read that the gf options are tasty as well, but you know, it was a party 😛
I liked the white cake with white icing. The icing had a bit of marshmallow taste to it and the cake was so fluffy and airy. But I did try the salted caramel and thought it was superb, not that I could eat a whole one at once. Like, a bite of that is dessert. Maybe two bites, tops.

I wanted to tell you, when we went today, Moo and Master Boombastic both ordered vegan, gluten-free varieties and they said they were “delicious” and “heavenly” and “scrumptious.” They are smaller, and so also more healthy by way of sugar.

Awesome! Gluten free foodstuffs can be yummy if they are made well. A bakery in town, Happy Bellies, does a great job with cupcakes, donuts, etc.

So cute and inviting! I’d be tempted by the pumpkin harvest. Are those aprons hanging over the window?

Please enlighten me as to the location of this joint so I can make sure I never take Sloane or MIss Madison by there :). I would have to drag Sloane out there with a tow truck!

Hope it was a divine birthday, and if you ever need a volunteer to do some cupcake scouting up in the northeast, let me know. I’m ready, willing, and able to down that sugar just to help you out. 🙂

Not only pretty, but it looks like cupcakes everywhere in that store! I don’t understand what is raw about cupcakes, though. Or at least, I don’t want mine raw.
LikeLiked by 2 people
The raw thing has to do with the gluten-free, dairy-free stuff. I dunno. We went with the sweetest of sweets 🙂

I need something sweet right now. Gonna settle for sugar and rosewater in my iced tea, but I’d rather have one of those cupcakes.

I’m not normally a fan of cupcake pieces parts but I didn’t think about eating one of each. That’s a good idea.

First MJ brought out the lemon poppyseed cake which I craved and craved and craved. Now when I think I’m finally over my cake-neediness, you come out and toss around cupcakes. Yummy, delightful little cupcakes.
I think I have unresolved cake issues.
Yes, I’ll have one of each, please. To go.

Vegan and GF?! We have only one cupcake shop in town that also serves those so yay! for this adorable little shop. I have never heard of kawaii….my kids are grown so I am not up on all the new words. Oh God…..is it a new word even? 😦
LikeLiked by 1 person
It’s not a new word, it’s just a new word for English speakers. It’s like “cute” in Japanese. Become very popular due to anime 🙂

I loved those distressed white benches, the tip jar.

I think Moo’s birthday was just a convenient excuse for you to go there (thank goodness for children, they provide parents with excuses to indulge). All kidding aside, I can’t tell who enjoyed themselves more, Moo or you, but your photos did capture the moment and I hope she had a special celebration to remember with mom!
