I picked my first tulip yesterday. And then I photographed it. And I posted it for the prompt of the day was pink. And it was GOOD.
I know, right? Even I put my link on the stem. So proud. S’mine. I did that.
You know what else I did this week? Worked my ass off. (Ass photo unavailable)
I do like this: I get out of bed ever-so-reluctantly, I wrangle the octopus on my head, put on cute shoes, and sing all the way to work.
What I’m listening to this week:
Over and over. I need my spleen to rattle. Also, there’s some deep shit in there. It is good.
Then I get out of my car and I give myself this pep talk, like I am a supastah
k joey, go in there and do your very best to work the work and you will get the work done
And I do, indeed, get the work done. Not all at once and new post-its replace the old post-its and it is good. I’m thinkin bout gettin some cutesy patterned stickies. Fun is good. Take it and make it when and where you can.
The Mister gets today off because Wall Street and Jesus. It is a Good Friday for him.
Because Love of Joey, he will do two loads of laundry and go to the goddamned grocery store. Also good.
Tell you what is not good?
What the hell for?
Y’all got enough of that, yeah?
Shh, put your headphones in and let yo spleen rattle.
Happy Friday Everyone! Make it good!
This is one of those days that no one seems to know what to do about. Half the world is off from work, the other half is working. And the whole moving Easter around the calendar thing doesn’t really give me a settled feeling. May you and your spleen have a good day. Happy Easter.

Nice tulip! No pink here.. only brown. But at least itβs better than white!

I think Kashmir is the best bass line ever.

Hubby asked me just yesterday why it’s called Good Friday. I could only shrug.
Thanks for the pink!

*shrugs with Maggie* The Christians seem to like it, and I got off work early because of it, so that’s nice π

Good morning! Happy Friday!
Yay for your mister going grocery shopping! Mine is in there cooking me some breakfast.
My daughter, grand-daughter, and I are going to try to find some yard sales, go to lunch, and probably shopping at the dollar store, too. So it’s a good Friday here.
Love β€ your tulip photo!
Enjoy your Friday, and the upcoming weekend! π

Happy Friday – I’m glad it’s been a good week. That pep talk is necessary, every dang day. We close at noon today and a bunch of people added half a vaca to get the whole day off. I like working these days because I get to avoid my coworkers without using a vacation day.
I hope you have a great weekend.

I only need the pep talk in times of heavy post-it notes! Hehe! It’s a good pep talk, for a supastah!
We did enjoy fewer phone calls today and I hope your day was quiet as well π

It was a lovely day at work. Do quiet and since we closed at noon, no one making lunch.
LikeLiked by 1 person
I have to ask — is people making lunch too close to you? Is it the noise, the smell, both?
LikeLiked by 1 person
It’s mostly the noise. My office door is directly opposite the kitchen. People gather while making lunch, and yack. They seem to talk louder, the way people do when using a cell phone. I get to work early, so I eat early. then I mostly close my door, put on some headphones and queue up a playlist titled “Work noise”

Gotcha. That would be annoying. I get it.

With me needing a pep talk is the first sign that it is time to leave. I love your tulip. So Springy. Are schools open on Good Friday? Can’t remember. Honestly I am not familiar with those first 3 tunes. Interesting. Zeppelin on the other hand is very familiar. I hope your spleen is properly rattled and your Friday is Good. I also hope that tulip is just the first of many.

Benson speaks the truth about the pep talk — me, too.

Ah, then I will repeat my words to Benson here:
Bosses kicked us out early π
I love my work. I love, love, love my work! (But it is crazy hectic lately and I would like to get more done in shorter time!) And Tara, I need a pep talk to get on an elevator, or to drive in the rain, or⦠(very pep talk oriented, not usually for work)

We can be elevator pep talk buddies. Glad you don’t need one for work. That’s a good thing!

Well I was a workaholic so I was hot and cold. When I got to the point where I dreaded going to work that was when I knew it was time to leave. I bet you are very good at giving pep talks. I am glad you got a half day. I hope the Mr was home and the girls were in school.

I left about 4 π
I am not a workaholic, but I do get… in the zone. I like it there, in the doing.
When I worked in another office, I did, literally, sit in my car in the morning and wait til the very last moment to go in. When I decided to leave, I went in, polished some details and let my key. It was an excellent decision. I liked the work, but the boss/office environment was … REVOLTING. (Which probably has a lot to do with my appreciation of the good and interesting people I work for now.)

A good boss is always important. Most of the times when I left it was due to a sense of ennui; so I just acted like that bear and went over that mountain.

Right on. Ennui is your brain’s way of telling you there are greener pastures over the mountain, or at the very least, new ones π

I didn’t realize I was rattling my spleen with all my singing and car dancing and all. I suppose then I have the fittest spleen in all the land!
I am off today, because boss randomly took this day off for the office last year and I decided that made it an official every year holiday (she who controls the calendar). Yay, Wall Street and Jesus and Me!
Uh, yeah, the ass photo is unavailable… you worked it off! It’s gone!
And so am I… as of…. NOW!

Hurrah! My bosses seem to kick us out early on Fridays quite a bit when the weather is good or there’s a holiday. I find it quite generous, the unexpected goodbye π BUT I wish when there’s no mail, no bank, no court, we would also have no work!
Enjoy your weekend extra! π
PS MY SPLEEN IS THE FITTEST! π

Yes! No mail/bank/court should mean no work for ALL!
We shall have a spleen Olympics to decide this.

I don’t have much work to do today either and when I was younger the hours between 12 and 3 were spent in prayer (well, quiet reading anyway). Now I’ll go work in my studio and thank God for it! Kashmir fits very well with that. Kudos to your hubby for doing laundry and grocery shopping. He’s a gem.

Ahh…such a pretty tulip!! I was at Universal on Good Friday. Shockingly most people didn’t come that day. I think because the storm was rolling in. We didn’t mind. Got to ride everything we wanted. No wait on Men In Black…that never happens and is one of my favorites. We did that twice in a row. Had an issue with a virtual line for Fast and Furious so the attendant gave us fast passes for it and another set of fast passes to use somewhere else, which we promptly used to ride Revenge of the Mummy again. Yep. That’s a “Good” Friday. π Love the song selections! Billie Eilish is Miss Sunshine’s favorite so I hear her a lot. I hope that you had a wonderful weekend!
