The weather isn’t exactly DoorScursionary lately, so my door reserves are runnin low. I do hope you’re in the mood for some funky cute wooden screen doors. I have these, some grainy apartment doors, a handful of oddballs… If it rains through June, you’ll have to see the boring doors in my own neighborhood or those on the ark we’ll build to escape. Can you imagine the horror?
Let’s be positive and focus on this lil trio:
Red, yellow, or green — which one do you like?
My vote’s on yellow, because, well, it’s yellow. But I like the stone in the arch of the red one and the sheer crookedness of pretty much everything in the green door’s photo.

My favorite is the red; because of the funky roof over it. I have always liked that asymmetric style always amuses me. It is as if the person designing it was drunk and had one eye closed. You don’t see them too much anymore.

I just love door pictures. Ach one opens to a story.

I do like the yellow, but am drawn to the rounded arches of the others. I think it’s because I don’t see that often. The green one definitely pops with its brightness and matching surrounding!

My favorite is the green! I like the curves and the old window overhangs!

On the green door photo, above the door in the wall are 3 bricks placed like a diamond. I see that around our city in older neighborhoods, and wonder if that has a meaning or if it was just a style. To me it looks goofy, but to someone at some time it was cool, I suppose.

I like any and all brickwork — it must have been a trend at the time.

I would re-paint the minty green. I’m not a fan. My fave is the red door because who doesn’t love a red door?
This is certainly not the spring I expected, although last Fri/Sat/Sun was gorgeous weather. Yesterday I was in such a funk because of the cold rain. Today is cloudy, but 70 for a high. Tomorrow, we go back to more rain and 50’s. I would like it to quit raining and have more sun and warmth.

Who doesn’t love a red door? Absolutely. I am now tired of the rain because I can’t work outside and I can’t DoorScursion. I don’t need warmth, but I want some SUN for my seeds and photos!

I love the beauty in the everyday; the first one is my favorite, from the red door to the lopsided asymmetry to the wonderful stones.

Rain or not, you found some good ones. I like the red one. Red doors always draw my eye.

the RED door for me Joey, it sings out and the brickwork just tells you it wanted a red door to set it off!

My vote goes for the yellow one, though I do appreciate the skill involved in the brickwork for those arches on the other two.

RREEEDDDDD. Lol
Though I bet that window/screen whatever is a bummer to replace cuz of that arch.
Also, its the same color as my porch. 😛

I love the red door but I love the notion of an arched screen door even more. I think the arch makes an entrance so much more appealing. The red door is also a really good red.

I like the arched ones. I’m going to go with red, because I like the setting better.

The yellow, definitely.

I know what you mean – the bloggers living close to a bigger city definitely have an advantage in finding pretty doors (or any door!). Live not that far from Sacramento, but that city is not very door-minded! But at least you found some arched doors -would not mind having one of these:)

Thanks. I live in a big city, bigger than Sacramento, even, but I’m not too keen about driving around in the rain.
Glad you liked them. I’d love to have one, too, but my husband doesn’t like them at all!

Toss-up between red and green.

That old green door does it for me, mostly because of the matching overhangs on the windows, making it all look aged and quaint.

I like the bricks in an arch with details like cement “V” shapes in between at 1/3 of way around arch. I know there is a better way to express this, but I am a little “brain dead,” Joey. I love the green door, the gray with red framing and next to the simple yellow door, there is a great mailbox, like a Colonial or Revolutionary soldier. All very unique and interesting to view! 🙂

As far as doors go, they all get good points for the reasons everyone has said … but I like the photo of the yellow one best because of what looks like a drummer boy statue at the side.
I can’t tell, but is that the mailbox?!

Not sure exactly what it is, but the mailbox is on the left. Maybe it’s just art, or a planter. It’s fun though, isn’t it? 🙂

I especially like those red and green doors in the context of the brick building.

I’m curious — do people ever see you taking pictures of their house and ask about it?
After your post last week or the week before, a few red doors have caught my eye. 🙂

Yes, they do, rarely. When I tell them I’m photographing their doors, they are very pleased and offer up interesting tidbits about their homes. Sometimes people say they don’t think their door is interesting and I’ll show them photos of other doors. I’ll compliment whatever is interesting and they’ll see it all differently. It’s rare, but so far, people are quite happy about it.

People are less paranoid than me, I’d be worried you were surveilling me to kill me 😄

No, you wouldn’t. That just isn’t the vibe I give off.

I like the arched red screen door, and love the yellow door with that great urn in front. I like that you finished up the post with a green door arched door. It wrapped up the collection nicely for me. Hope the rains stops soon.

Overall, I like the red one best, not only for the door but for the composition of the photo and the details. But actually, I like all of them together… i love a series. Each photo adds to the others!

I love all three images and they go together well. I always look for more than just the door itself, how it fits in the surroundings, how all the colours work, and in your examples it all comes together very well indeed.
