Uh, I guess not, I mean, it’s not like you’re throwin ME outta the bowl! 😉
Thank you 🙂
Throw you out of a bowl?? Neverrrrrr! Not out of a bowl, or a boat, or off a goat…you get the point 😉
Splendid rest of Monday to you 🙂
Yum! Looks delicious! Happy 4th! 🙂
Thank you, you too! 🙂
That looks very good. We overate yesterday, taking it easy today. Except for ice cream, we had ice cream 🙂
Excellent, ice cream is the best! 🙂
This looks so delicious! I hope you had a good holiday!
I did thanks 🙂
Looks pretty good. Happy 4th.
We did steaks on the grill, some watermelon and corn casserole…can’t complain.
Mmhm, Sounds good! 🙂
Went pretty simple here tonight. Burgers and potatoes chips. Oh, yeah, ice cream. Gumbo looks delicious. I love the okra best 🙂
Yum yum! 🙂
Ribs, baked beans, coleslaw and jalapeno cheddar corn bread. Lovely gumbo and pie.
Sounds delicious! 😛
Yummm, that looks good, Joey! Hope you had a wonderful day xx
I did, thanks!
The gumbo sounds and looks yummy!! The pie with whipped or ice cream would be perfect to take the heat out off the tongue! 🙂
Glad you had a fantastic Fourth! ❤
Thanks, Robin 🙂 We ate it a la mode 😛
I love pie ala mode!! 😀
My brother cooked dry ass hamburgers and burnt hot dogs, no dessert. But I didn’t have to cook, so I can’t complain too much 😉
Mmmmmm gumbo! I need to make some soon! That looks yummies! And the pie is gorgeous!
Mmhm, you do. Thanks 🙂
We are on a “diet” which doesn’t include pie. Yours looks like it was yummy!
Oh wow! This looks so incredibly good!!! I want that pie! And I think you’ve inspired me to try making gumbo. Can I use chicken or turkey sausage? I will forgive you the tablecloth because the food makes my mouth water.
Yay! I’m so glad you like it 🙂
I think gumbo is one of those like chili or goulash, people do what they want, everyone’s is different. I think you can do whatcha want. There are purists, but I’m not one of them. To me, the roux, the trinity, and the okra are what it’s all about. Meat and fat make the flavor, so use what you like. 🙂 And do let me know if you enjoyed it!
I will. Gonna plan it now.
We had grilled ostrich steaks.
Ostrich is rare here. I can only recall seeing it on a menu a few times. Were they delicious?
They were. Probably better with a sauce of some sort, because they’re very lean and can dry out. But they are incredibly tender and tasty.
Kangaroo leg steaks are also excellent.
I don’t love meat, but I love to try new foods 🙂
Audrey and I are working our way through all the “unusual animals”, as she calls them, we’ve had ostrich, kangaroo, wild boar and bison so far. Next on the list is alligator steaks.
Ah, here in the states we like our alligator battered and deep-fried. 🙂 Enjoy your sampling!
It’s almost 6 pm, I have no idea what I’m going to do for dinner, and now this post with all its comments have made me hungry. Thank you.
Hah, so sorry. We’re having bbq chicken legs and a kale and chard salad, cantaloupe, and roasted carrots 😛
Did you just hear the rumble of my stomach?
Was that you? Mercy!
Nothing that a platter of sushi didn’t eventually cure 🙂
Right on! 😛 Yummy!
