House and garage in the shade…
Tiny house that wants all the light…
A tale of two houses. Trim and mood and attitude. What say you of the blue and green?

I really like it and would want all the light as well. I need more house though.

Yeah, it’s REALLY small. It’s not one of those houses with more depth in the rear, it really is probably 500 sq ft of cute.

I liked the look of both houses. Which had the garage?

Me too 🙂 The first.

The second needs it more!

Probably. But then, they seem committed to living simply…

As soon as I commented I realized I was projecting myself into that house. I can’t let go of my STUFF.

I don’t question that even a lil bit. I can stand outside that house and tell you there’s no room for my books, let alone my animals and people 😉

I like the green stripe above the window and the green house numbers. Nice accents.

I like it, but I’d say the colours were black and weird not-fully-greenish. The effect is modern but I wonder how hot in the summer.

I wondered the same. No thank you to roasting indoors all summer.

Cute little house. If it was located elsewhere would make a nice little place to get away.

Like a cottage on the beach? ❤

Hmmm, I like the houses and the doors, but I don’t see the houses as being blue 😦 Oh well, I don’t see a lot of things as being the color that they are, so…I hope you’re feeling better today.

I’m feeling better, but not well yet, thanks for asking 🙂
I like them both, too.
I know you have trouble with color, and Manja thinks they’re black, but they’re both a similar hue to navy blue.

I like the second house better than the first… if the windows are all good quality. Otherwise think of the wasted energy going out those windows! [Probably a more practical answer than this question was asking for.]

Not at all. One of the first thoughts I had about the smaller house was, “How insulated are those windows? Are there invisible blinds?”

The first looks cozy. Needs a ramp though. 😛

Right on. I’d definitely choose the first over the second, cause shade and space. Plenty of room for a ramp and a nice corner lot as well 😉

I prefer the second blue and green house, especially how they painted the chimney green for additional accent. Very cute! The first house needs different colors. Don’t ask me what, but it feels too dark with the current paint job.

The bright chartreuse chimney is a really cute touch 🙂

Number one looks like an old ambulance barn with a paint job. Number two is cuter, and I like the colors, just not on a house.

LOL! I love the range of opinions. I’d take the first house, cause space and shade. 😉

Cute little house – I’m not sure about the green though. I guess it works.

love the trim and mood and attitude – and I felt it too – with the strong lines of the windows and structure of the house and the colors were well selected…..

Until I saw these, I would never have thought about how black and white trim create such specific moods. Thanks for seeing with the same sorta eye 🙂

The colors seem to fit; especially the woodsy charm of the first house. I like the bold choice for the chimney. I want a single story house. Stairs can get so old after a while.

I do like our one-story, but I often wonder how much better shape I was in for all the ups and downs of homes with stairs…
I do like that bright chimney 🙂

I would never have thought to put those two colours together, Joey, but they look really good. Nice find.

It felt a bit lucky to encounter them in the same day 🙂 Thanks!

My phone didn’t initially load the pic of the first house. They’re both cute, but I like the second one best. I prefer the bigger windows. 🙂

Those windows are charming 🙂

It’s definitely an interesting color combo. I’m a little surprised that you found two houses with the same, unique combination.

I know, right? I thought it was unusual, too. They’re only about a mile or so apart.

Not my favorite color scheme, but I’m loving all those windows. Heating bills though…yikes.

I thought the same. Maybe not much to heat, but in the summer, costly to cool that tiny house with all the windows?

I like the green and blue. The first one reminds me of a Cold War era bunker.

Not sure how I feel about that color combo. I like red doors, white is ok. But if ya paint the chimney to match the door, ok.

A surprising color combination …. I am not sure if it would work for me though. The people must be a different level of interesting 🙂

If you had described to me a dark bluish-gray building with a muted lime green trim and doors, I would have cringed … but it does kind of work. Especially in the last photo. The chimney seals the deal 🙂

That chimney was a real hit 🙂

An unusual color combo for sure but not unattractive. I noticed they even painted the chimney on the second one.
Of course the first thing I noticed in all that was the two-car garage…because that just screams: room for a workshop! 😀

Absolutely. Glad you like them 🙂

A strange color scheme, it’s kind of sludgy, but it looks better with the white contrast on the windows. I would find it hard to choose these colors for a house I lived in, I like light !

I love tiny houses, but I sure don’t like those colors. Not together, anyway. I could probably get used to them, and maybe they look better with spring/summer vegetation around them, but….

These houses really gather strong opinions. You are not alone. A nice yard can help pretty much any home, because then we can say, “nice yard though.” 🙂

Nice; the debate over colors reminds me of the blue or gold dress on the internet. Small houses need windows to give the illusion that they are bigger by including the outside space. Good post!

Thanks! I had no idea these two would stir up so much opinion 🙂 Ya never can tell!

I liked your double houses post for Thursday’s Doors, Joey. My friend had a brown house with an orange door. The deep blue houses with the lime green trim both have unique and pleasant appearances. I enjoy seeing different color combinations, Joey.
