#ThursdayDoors — Quickly, A Drive-By

Sometimes people ask me, “What’s up with the doorΒ stuff?”
Some people like doors. I am a people who likes doors. I hunt for doors. But I also catch’em on the fly, like when The Mister drives me through our fair city and I happen to see a lil somethin.

Like it. Imposing, but with pretty detail. Well captured.

What a cute door. So delicate looking in that huge bed of stone. That is why we like doors.

  4. Pretty good shot if you took the picture on the fly πŸ™‚

I love doors too! I think it’s the mystery of what’s on the other side. Doors can be first impressions and I think it says a lot about the occupants.

Love it. Not sure, but it looks like that building has seen far far better times, maybe it’s even partly boarded up? I like imagining what would happen to a door like that if the facade was restored. Great shot for someone on the fly.

I like this little somethin. I flip back and forth between take a quick shot and run with it, or circle back and do a deeper study. Sometimes, quick works very well. Nicely done today.

It’s not easy to get a shot from a moving car – good job!

  11. You did a great job, Joey. Drive-by doors sounds vaguely gangster-ish. πŸ™‚

“The low-slung black car paused only briefly as a door was flung from the window, crushing Mr. G. The car then sped away. Police are searching for the door killers.”

SO glad you threw this one out there because I, too, have wondered what’s up with the doors. I just didn’t want to ask for fear of sounding rude.
Being a doors people sounds lovely. As I recall, I liked some of that Doors music, too, but that’s neither here nor there.

  13. I can appreciate why you’re interested in doors. There are so many different architectural styles and colors that express something about a certain period or history of a place. Doors are quite artful when one thinks about it.
Thank you for sharing your city’s doors with us. πŸ™‚

Joey, I like this evergreen or emerald color for its contrast to the light sand colored stones. The narrow glass panes look like they may either have criss crosses of metal or the design imprinted upon the glass. The multiple paneled double doors is a huge hit, in my opinion! πŸ™‚

I think the whole idea is neat. It’s a thing. It’s your thing. It’s interesting. I don’t have a thing.

LIKE it! I catch ’em on the fly, too, if I don’t have my phone stuck so deep in my pocket I couldn’t get it out with a fishing pole and an electromagnet.

Handsome doors can just pop up out of nowhere and I’m impressed you had a camera ready to catch it on the fly!!

I saw so many gorgeous green and blue doors in France – believe me when I say I was reminded of you every time I passed one.
