If you had to have your vision corrected would you rather: glasses or contacts? Or what do you use if you need to have your vision corrected?
I’ve had readers for over a decade now, solely for sewing and fine print…Lately, though, I have entered the age of blur. I do fine with lit screens, but I pretty much cannot read paper or whatnot without my glasses.
I expect I’ll get new glasses this year.
If you had to describe your day as a traffic sign, what would it be?
SLOW
I did not sleep well last night. I have a lot to do today, so I’m high on the Pepsi and still not at full speed.
Was school easy or difficult for you? How so?
School was easy for me. I coasted. I respond well to structured environments with consistent expectations. I enjoy learning and thinking.
I struggled with algebra, but I made it through eventually. They don’t let you go to college without passing four semesters of algebra. It took me six.
Would you rather take a 1 or 2 week vacation with an organized tour or take a cruise of your choice?
Terrible choice. Tours mean groups of people and a schedule. Ick. Ick. Cruises mean boats and sea monsters. Oh the horror.
…
Maybe, and I do mean maybe, with enough alcohol, I might could enjoy one of those river cruises where you eat and photograph your way through Europe. Maybe. I’d probably sleep with a life jacket on. Maybe I could convince The Mister to wear one of those harpoon gun thingies. Those cruises do look lovely. I know my life though, and I would totally be on the one boat that gets eaten by a giant sea monster.
People would ask, “Who’da thunk it?” and I’d be wavin my specter arm, “ME! I THUNK IT!”
Bonus question: What are you grateful for from last week, and what are you looking forward to in the week coming up?
Okay, so y’all know I do not love warm weather and while it was hard to sleep in the heat (74) I did enjoy the bright, warm weekend that permitted me to start gardening! Plants! Seeds! Dirt! Yay! I really enjoyed the after part — The Mister pulled our chairs out into the freshly-mown yard. We sat there with our swate tay, just takin it all in. Ah, soft green grass!
(I’d be remiss not to mention — In a neighborhood full of flowers and flowering trees — Where did the ONE yellow jacket land? On my shoulder!)
This week should be typical, and for that, I am also grateful.

Share Your World – 2016 Week 16
What’s going on in your world?
I think I’m breaking the cardinal rule of southern Indiana and going to plant our garden BEFORE the KY Derby. I need to do something since I let a tiller whoop my ass all weekend!

Oh boy. I let The Mister off the hook with the tiller until he wraps up his semester. I’ve got three new beds to sow after that.
I only planted the early crops. You gonna put flowers in? Before Mother’s Day? :O

My green thumb has been on overdrive this weekend :). Zinia, Phlox, and sunflower seeds are in the ground!

NICE! I did onions, carrots, spinach, rosemary, parsley, basil, and sage. I need to get some sunflower seeds, thank you for the reminder!
I want to see photos of the zinnias this summer, Gary 🙂

If I can keep the Turtle Man out of the area I just created you will get pictures :). Miss Madison’s mom is a certified master gardener, she’s taking care of my herb plants until she says they get to go in the ground LOL.

I remember your reaction to my giant squid post. You probably should stay away from water.

If it’s farther than I can swim, I don’t like it!

You’ll be happy to know I’ve been on several cruises and have never seen a sea monster! Yet, anyway.

Yeah, yeah, yeah, The Mister says the same thing. The sea monsters are like yellow jackets, Carrie; they’ll be comin fer ME!

They probably hold regular meeting to discuss their plan of action once you’re finally out there on a boat.

She thunk it. Funny. I would like a cruise down the Mississippi to New Orleans. All I would have to worry about would be giant catfish. That and the fact that I can’t swim and scared of water. I think I would still like it.

I swim well and you’re still braver than I!

Well, if I were to answer Q1, I think that it’d come as no surprise to anyone who follows my blog that I prefer glasses, says The Spectacled Bean! 😉

Indeed! Spectacles are just the most practical 🙂

I know people who have been on cruises and when they describe what happened, all I can think is “sounds like Hell to me.”

I’ve heard both. I bet it greatly depends on the person, the location, and the length. I just don’t think I’m a cruise person, John.

I always enjoy your responses to these questions. Your vacation answer was perfect. I don’t want to be with people on a vacation.

I would like an organized tour w/out the people. Do you carry an epi-pen? Damn, I hate yellow-jackets, too.

I do usually carry an epi-pen, but I was pretty irresponsible/ too cheap last year. I have different insurance now, so I’ll find out what it’s like this summer. If it’s $215, I’ll take my chances on the ER.
A personal tour would be fabulous 🙂 I could manage that for a short time, probably not an entire week, though.

Bless the bee, without bees we have no flowers. I would love to go on a cruise, but my vacation partner does want to, so on land I stay.

DAMN ALL THE YELLOW JACKETS! No one needs yellow jackets!

I was sitting peacefully in my chair time location when bees flew around me. I tried to get a picture, but I am not as talented as you. I got up and watched as the bees went into holes in my house. Carpenter bees are as unwanted as yellow jackets. I thought you were writing about honey bees. My bad!

ok, another old post. I have to write your email down somewhere else so I can remember. #1 I lived in Florida, having fire ants attack me when I mowed the sand, I mean grass, was horrible.
#2 3 strikes and you’re OUT!
#3 Winnie the Pooh is lovable and cuddly, yellow jackets are not!
#4 That A+ meme caused me to make a younger human look at why I was laughing so hard!
Thanks for sharing.

I would take a cruise every year if budget permitted! I find them the most relaxing, enjoyable vacation, and I’ve never seen one sea monster. But I know they are not for everyone. I would also go for “contact” since I would walk into walls without mine in. I now, however need readers as well so that’s a bit of a pain! Hope the bees leave you alone!

I don’t care much for organized vacations, especially if organized by others. It’s too much like vacation boot camp.

I love cruises, but the booze tab ends up being higher than the price of admission. 😮
Damn the yellow jackets! Our friendly neighborhood wasp family has decided to come back from the dead and hang out again.

I hated Algebra, so you can imagine my disgust when they tossed me into an Algebra class a few years ago. I could grasp the concepts but the math teacher allowed the kids to be loud and disruptive so it was even more difficult for me and the students who also have ADHD.

I taught 6-8 math for a grading period. I did fine except the 8th grade honors class — that involved a lot of algebra. I had the star student work the Challenge problems out every day, because I couldn’t!

Sounds like a river cruise would work best for you. 😀
