Sage advice. I have quite a few boundaries. Of course sometimes I forget what they are.

Yes, like misplacing things — happens to everyone now and again. 🙂

“My Misplaced Virtue”. Wasn’t that a Hawthorne novel?

LMAO No, absolutely not, Hawthorne wouldn’t be able to place blame on anyone but himself then! 😛

Great reminder. My father tried to teach me this lesson. I still had to learn it the hard way.

Boundaries are best marked out with chalk, in case they need moving.

Well that’s weirdly relevant to my recent experiences. Good advice. I’m working on it.

Never too old? Me, me! Need some drastically, even though it’s just letters and the board.

Good advice for ‘givers.’ I’m going to remember that. 🙂

Oh, good grief. Don’t get me started. I could tell you some stories. Set and then reset every day.

So true and valuable advice for the young. ❤ My Mom tried many times to have me give up a friend from junior high, as I was a single mom with a modest income. My friend was part of a back to school charity, as a recipient, as well as free coats and shoes drive. The list was long and it started to "sicken" me but how many long time friends did I have?! (This woman received monthly, hundreds of dollars from her father, she would show me her checks.)
Then, one freezing cold Thanksgiving, she, her husband, and two little kids came to our door. My SIL came up behind me, quickly saying, "Robin is serving dinner, she must go!"
As I walked back into the kitchen I let out a loud sigh of relief! Yes, sounds cruel but a weight came off my shoulders that day.

I’m glad your SIL cared enough to help you enforce boundaries.
Kind-hearted people want to be kind.
